Well-constructed and sturdy, just fill with water and the Purple Leaf umbrella screws right on.

I ordered the 10 x 13 cantilever umbrella for my decks. I have rails all around the top deck. We also set the umbrella up in the corner so it would turn to our lower deck. The original problem with the setup was that the screw holes on the metal bars of the base were machined a very slight bit off. We contacted purple leaf and were offered two options to remedy the issue. We didn't want to return it, so we decided to drill more and keep the product without voiding the warranty. We were now ready to set the umbrella up in our space.The space we chose for the umbrella was tight, but we could open it. When we closed the umbrella, it got caught on the railings, table, and chairs. All the chairs and table had to be moved to close it. We realized this was going to fail to work in our space. I contacted Purple Leaf, and they offered us a refund with no problem. We asked for specs on a smaller product, and they responded promptly with the information we needed. We repurposed the large umbrella as suggested and will order a new smaller one.I was leery about ordering from the company at first because they don't offer service via telephone. Throughout this process, they have been extremely responsive via email, helpful, and accommodating. I give Purple Leaf a 5-star review for customer service!Since I purchased the product a few weeks ago and will be purchasing a smaller one for that space, I will review it separately after some time spent using it. If you have room to turn it without obstacles on one side, it is straightforward to open, turn, tilt, and close. Consider buying a smaller one for decks with rales and other barriers. For the 10 x 13 umbrella, you will need two people to place it in the base. It took one stronger person to lift and move it and another to guide it into the base.I am editing this because I didn’t mention that the quality of the umbrella was amazing. We opened it on a day with some winds and it tolerated them just fine. The poles and fabric seemed extremely strong and that is the reason we will try a smaller one in our space.

If I could give 10 stars to Puple Leaf for this umbrella base I would! It's that good and I would recomend this base if you're going to purchase the Cantilevered Umbrella to anyone and I think it's well worth the cost. When the first one arrive there was damage to the shipping box and sure enugh the base was cracked and the water leaked out. I notified Purple leaf and sent a picture of the damage. They were fanrastic about it and sent me a replacement immediatly at no cost no questions asked.NOW THAT'S GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I decided, after placing an order, I wanted to change the color of the umbrella I bought. I emailed customer service and someone got back to me very quickly. She was wonderfully helpful and understanding-- shout out to Kate--- and she even helped me with a return from the company's shop on Amazon because the umbrella I ended up selecting needed a different base. I am very pleased with the product, as well! (PURPLE LEAF UV Resistant Left-right Tilting Patio Umbrella Swivel Outdoor Umbrella) It was easy to put together and our neighbors already commented on how good it looks!

The base is huge, much larger than I expected but then again, I'm not good at spatial reasoning. But it's very sturdy and does its job perfectly! I bought two of these for a house that I manage and everyone loves it! The sellers were nice enough to let me know ahead of time that I had initially purchased the wrong size base for the umbrellas that I purchased and they easily accommodated an exchange. Product, seller, experience, ALL GREAT!

Purchased the Purple Leaf 12' umbrella and needed this base to secure it. The base has two separate water tanks and each has a screw plug to empty the tank. Since I plan to move the base around the pool area, I wanted to use only water (and not sand) as a filler. (I rated maneuverability as a 3 because there were no wheels incorporated into the base, but not a big issue)Unfortunately one of the tanks leaked and was empty within a day.Customer Service responded quickly to my request for help. They requested a description of the leaking area, plus a photo if possible. Two days later, they had a replacement base being shipped to me. It is so refreshing to deal with the company, Purple Leaf, that demonstrates the value of their customers with great service. Will certainly but my next umbrella from them!
