Will this bottle safely dissolve in the ocean over time? We are shooting a scene for a commercial where a bottle falls off a ship.

I couldn't say for sure - but having accidentally broken one before a scene we were shooting as I'd never used breakaway props, I noticed pieces did seem to dissolve and crumble in a few days. I also had a pest come in my place that I saw convulsing like I've never seen before, so it might be very toxic...or just poisonous to bugs? I couldn't say exactly - maybe get a couple and try putting one in a tub of water or something. Some of those larger pieces can still feel sharp, but no actors we had were harmed. Hope that helps.

Are these bottles safe to eat?

Thanks for the question! These bottles are not safe to eat as they are made from a mix of plastics. "Sugar Glass" is a bit of an outdated term, as the majority of breakaway glass is made from plastics these days. Safe and effective

I needed these for a short film I was making, and they worked perfectly. The smashing on camera looked very realistic and I was very pleased. I wish I had ordered more because they’re very delicate and one of them broke in rehearsal so thank God we got it in one more. But for the money, it would be worth it to buy more and I would buy these again. Next time I make a short film.

Was really excited, but the bottle is completely deformed. Won’t stand on its own (I’m holding with finger at the top in picture.) Wondering if it will break on impact to give the material is warped and thicker. Not worth the money at all.

Not the best and overpriced

They broke nicely except they are very very sharp. I might as well have used real glass. It is not made out of sugar either. The material does not dissolve so the cleanup is dangerous and difficult. You’re better off finding a different brand or making your own.
