These are high quality, heavy duty (and heavy) shepherds hooks. I've attached picture that shows it holding a large all metal and glass lantern (14" high, about 6 lbs) and the hook is more than up to the task. Because the pegs to put then in the ground are so heavy, you can hammer them into hard ground (like we have here in Las Vegas) very forcefully. There are a number reviews on here that dispute or discuss the height of the hook. I've attached a picture that shows the height of the hook IN THE GROUND. This is the measurement you're interested in. I highly recommend these hooks. I didn’t realize how short they are. They are not sturdy enough to hold my flower baskets so I will be returning.

Love the fact that it is one piece as most that screw in tend to bend

I ended up using both of these together to hang a large potted plant in my garden, because one just wasn't stable enough. The quality is good, just not a "super" strong as I had hoped. It would be great for a bird feeder or a smaller plant. Overall, a good value for the money.

As with my 84 " and 92" shepards hooks they don't hold my 10" flower baskets with out extra help to keep them in the ground. I used trampoline stakes from Amazon and it helps so much. I would purchase again.

Products are well made. Didn't work as a bird feeder as it's not tall enough and racoons can easily reach from the ground. Maybe I can use this for hanging flowers.
