rePotme Orchid Pot - 8 inch Slotted Orchid Pots with Holes - 3 Pack (Blue Sapphire)

I repotted my Phalaenopsis orchid about a month ago, and so far it seems happy in its new pot. It was in the middle of growing a new leaf when I repotted it and the leaf is now full sized. The pot's translucence makes it easy to see when it needs to be watered and the roots seem to be getting enough light and air, even with the pot's blue color. I was glad they offered an 8" pot, because this is what my plant needed.

I actually did not use this for my orchids. Instead, I used this for my other indoor plants as a liner for my ceramic/terracotta pots. I first lined the sides of the slotted pots with trimmed-to-size coconut liner to prevent quick drainage. I then re-planted as usual. I placed the newly re-potted plants inside my ceramic/terrocotta pots and filled the gaps with pea gravel and other decorative pebbles. It's really worked out well and the contrasting colors (slotted pot, pebbles, and other pot) made for a unique effect.

It adds some color and compliments my orchid. I re-potted my oldest orchids in this pot because it had so many roots that I needed a bigger than usual container but I wanted to make sure I could see the roots to make sure they were doing fine after. I can totally see the roots and so far she’s doing great.

A very nice orchid pot and the only one I could find which was larger than 7 inches. The slotted sides allow good airflow, and while tinted a very nice color, it is transparent enough to allow light to reach the roots and provide visualization of same. More large pots are needed, people! (Have you ever even SEEN a large catleya, guys? This one will outgrow it’s current 8 inch pot eventually!)

I used this pot to replant one of my bigger orchids, and it is getting ready to bloom several months later. I like the color and the price too. The ceramic pots are just too expensive.

This really helps to allow air to get to the roots
