Love this item. It made cutting sod very easy. Sharp. I’m sure that we will find many other uses in the future. Has a protective sleeve. Very happy with this purchase.

I've been removing grass in my yard to clear areas for a garden/growing vegetables. Currently clearing an area under an old clothes line. Knife is super sturdy and has stood up to some serious usage. 10/10 would recommend and buy again. I've been using for weeks for large areas and it works great. Get the technique down and you'll be removing sod like a pro!

Could be more durable

We put away just roughly wiped clean, sometimes damp, but no rust after a few months of several times a week use. The wavy edge dulled fairly quickly but easily sharpened with a dremel tool - I think it had too sharp a thin edge for garden use, so easily burred and worn off - I resharpened more to a butcher knife angle (not so flat). Serrated edge is our favorite - whips through roots and geotextile/weed barrier fabric almost dangerously easily.Quite thin and light weight - initially thought it might snap easily, but it is as rugged as its predecessor - a very thick heavy duty butcher knife.Sheath is a nice safety feature - knife would do a job on you if you sat or knelt on it laying on the ground.

This knife works great for cutting sod. I have used an number of different knives over the years to cut sod when laying sod and this works better than most I have tried. They come super sharp so be careful! Once you cut a bit of sod they become pretty dull but the cutting action is still great. I will be laying a bunch more sod in the spring and I am sure these will last through all of that also.

Great for the garden

I recently had the horrible task of replacing a septic tank and adding a dry well for the discharge of a water softener system. That meant that a seven foot deep trench (two feet wide) needed to cut through a 30 year old, established garden bed so they could drill through my foundation. This tool allowed me to cut out all plant material as if it was sod, move it aside, and put it back into place perfectly once the job was completed. Highly recommend if you need to cut through turf or garden ground cover with a clean line. Thinking it may even be a great precision edging tool!

Won't work for what we need it for, and we are afraid the blade will break from handle.

The quality looks good and works well for the price. Would buy again and highly recommend.
