OSG-40 Silica Gel Dehumidifier Desiccant 40 Gram Orange NO Cobalt (II) Chloride (2-Pack): desertcart.com: Industrial & Scientific Review: Works As Advertised - This product appears to be doing what it's supposed to do. I placed one dehumidifier in each of my guitar cases. The humidity in both has dropped from ~64% to ~55% within three days (according to two different, un-calibrated digital hygrometers). The dehumidifiers are a good size for this application. They fit the headstock compartments of my cases perfectly. Double-sided tape seems to keep them in place, though something more robust might be needed if I traveled more. They add no noticeable weight to the cases. I have not tried re-charging them yet. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase. Review: Seems to work as intended, and baking it did restore the gel to its new state. - Seems to work as described. I keep one in enclosed container with prescription pills, and another in my beard trimmers case. The one in the beard case I had to "rejuvenate" per the instruction on the front. Worked well and they're back to their orange color (white beads mean to bake). Seems they must be working as intended. These are best in an enclosed container where the moisture will be centralized. Don't expect it to defog your car (not for long at least). This is a perfect product when used as designed.

Does its' job
I have a half a dozen of these that I use in safes to control humidity. The only downside is that It is hard to see the changed color that indicates that they need to be heated in a 300º oven for 3 hours. And a 300º oven is not something you want to do for 3 hours in the summer.

A good small desiccant canister with clear indicator color.
These have a rather small amount of desiccant , but work well for a small volume. I use these in a small Pelican case and they last several months before the need for reactivation. The color indication is clear and they are reactivated in a few hours in the oven. To save energy and reduce cost I batch all the desiccant reactivations together.

Simple and effective
I needed to replace the desiccant in my personal safe. These work really well. They dehumidify very quickly, last a long time, and they're easy to reactivate. It's kinda hard to say anything special about these, since these are some old-school designs, but sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

Works as expected, but I wish I bought one ...
Works as expected, but I wish I bought one of the ones that you dry by plugging into an electrical outlet.

Peace of mind to protect your equipment.
These are actually extremely simple and can be reactivated in the oven. I use them to protect camera gear that sits in durable pelican cases. Living in the south moisture is always a concern and this gives me a little peace of mind.

Arrived Almost Ready for a Recharge
Both of them, although individually packaged and sealed, arrived with most of the orange indicators already turned black/clear. In all fairness, it is the winter and cold outside. But frankly I can’t see how condensation in a small sealed package could be that great. Maybe this was a bad batch, but I won’t be buying them again.
