Coldsteel Secret Edge
Only $30 and you get a very well constructed single edge dagger. It is very light, sharp and most of all pointy. Blade is made of AUS 8A from Taiwan and makes a great EZdC neckknife.

Great design and great knife but as far as cold steel standards are... horrible Edge
I'm a big fan of Cold Steel products and I own a lot of them but this one was kind of disappointing as you can see from my pictures I don't wear it as a neck knife I modified the chief by drilling a single hole to line up to a Tek Lok clip and I wear it on my belt. that works fine the sheath is fine and the general construction of the knife is fine. The issue that I have with this is the edge on this knife out of the box it was poor by Cold Steel standards and barely serviceable by normal standards. It does shave paper but it doesn't shave it cleanly. So it would cut in a pinch but it's not as sharp as it should be I did order a replacement to see if there's any difference and I will update this review at that time UPDATE... I've received my replacement and it looks like the original one I received was a return because I can get the edges perfect on my replacement extremely sharp and smooth no issue

Nice little knife, has great potential.
Very nice little blade single edged. Comes with decent retention sheath definitely won't be falling out on its own. Bladen handle are about evenly sized both being about the size of a credit card. The handle on this knife is very small so keep that in mind especially if you have a larger hand. Getting a proper full grip on it will be slightly challenging so be prepared for that.

An excellent tool.
Tool or weapon? That's your call. It is well made and very similar to a brave heart. Both knives are made for and sold by Cold Steel. The sheath works about the same way but the secret edge doesn't have a clip like the brave heart sheath. The handle and blade are each shorter on a secret edge however the cutting edge on the brave heart starts rather farther up the blade than on the the secret edge so the actual amount of available cutting edge is closer than the stated blade length suggests. The secret edge hilt is hard and highly textured, not overly comfortable compared to a brave heart but it works. I consider both to be suitable for cleaning pan fish, dressing and butchering small game(okay it was a chicken), most bush craft activities, etc. I would think that anything you could do with one you could do with the other. The secret edge is easier to conceal due to being shorter. The brave heart has the clip on the sheath and a more comfortable handle and is longer. Yeah I know. I compared two different knives however both are made by the same company, are extremely similar, and I expect both to appeal to the same people. I own both.

More Cold Steel Awesomeness!
I'm really enjoying this little piece. The price isn't bad for what you're getting and the quality is pretty solid considering the steps taken to save on weight. I don't believe the polymer handle is the same material used on my AK47 folder but it's fine and the blade is full tang, which is greatly appreciated. The total package is small and lightweight enough that I often forget I'm wearing it yet it's just substantial enough to offer an effective grip. I can't really think of any gripes...maybe they could include some paracord but I doubt anyone who buys this won't have some laying around to use. As a small, unobtrusive, and easily-hidden self defense knife this is an easy five stars.

Decent value, needs reprofiling to meet true potential
This is a decent blade for the money, however, to maximize sharpness it REALLY needs to be reprofiled. The problem is blade thickness. It's VERY thin. As a result the edge angle is very shallow, and arguably somewhat weak. I ground the V edge into a very shallow convex edge on a 220 water stone and then sharpened and polished on 400 then 2000. The new edge slices paper like butter and its much more practical for simple tasks like opening packages and basic needs. For $20-25 its decent, but if you are a knife lover, you might be a tad disappointed with the edge. PROS: - Then profile helps with concealment - Good traction on the faux G10 handle - Sheath design is very good, though it can cause some hiccups if not careful because of it's symmetrical design (see below) - Inexpensive - Slick looking - A decent EDC slicer when reprofiled CONS: - Blade is too thin and flexible for some users - Beaded hanging chain is a love/hate relationship versus a cord - I prefer the later - Sheath, those very well made is symmetrical so it can be difficult to tell which side of the blade the edge is on. Your best bet is to put the spine of the knife toward the "SecretEdge" label so you know when you pull it out that's the safe side. Just remember to hang it around your neck in the appropriate direction so if you need to grab it in lower light, you're in the clear - Sheath holes too small for standard paracord - Must be careful IF you decided to put a new edge on it as the thin metal is very easy to overgrind I keep this in my laptop bag without the chain as a just-in-case knife for opening packages, cutting fruit for a snack, etc. People might describe it as a "tactical" but that ends at it's black color and stealthy design. It's a FUN blade, but not a serious worker. This design in a thicker steel with a better edge would be very cool and CS might make such a knife. I picked it up simply to mess around with. In my opinion, if you're a knife lover and your expectations arent too lofty, you'll be satisfied with it. If your looking for a decent EDC to have for basic slicing tasks it's good, but better if you redo the edge in my opinion. If you are looking for a more robust necker knife, I'd strongly encourage you to look at the original ESEE Izula blade. It's a bit over double the price but WAY more knife and it comes with every accessory you could want except handle scales, which you don't really need. I reprofile them to convex as well, but even the factory V edge is way sharper and stronger. ESEE with a good convex is among the best knives I've tried. The handle on the Isula is a tad shorter but WAY more comfortable in the hand and you'll never get confused about which side of the blade is sharp. I hate being overly critical, but I'm being honest. As with any review, please look at my expectations for the products I review and make your decision accordingly. Don't buy or not buy something because of what any ONE person says unless you read something that really hits home with you. I hope that you find this review helpful and enjoy whatever knife you ultimately decide on. I work 60-70 hour weeks, but if I can find some time, I'll load a few pics. - R

Looks like a throwing knife
Its a nice edc blade. Nice and pointy. The handle is nice and has some weight to it, and I like the holes in the handle. The sheath is nice and can be put in any way. My only problem with the knife is the blade. The actual blade is kinda thin, and the grind is also kinda bad.
