It actually works!
Cable works fine, clean drivers available online elsewhere.Depending on your application, if you need a K Line adapter this will work.Customers either had issues with the cable, or said the drivers were malware.I wouldnt trust the disc included, just find the drivers yourself via tuner forums

A must if you own an VW MK4
It doesn't have the level of a real vag-com, but it is very usefull to get SKC and/or the radio code or even to get the windows up/down with key fob.

The Facts.
Let’s talk about the good the bad and the ugly of this dummy VCDS cable. The good: it’s a working VCDS cable for less than $20. And that’s where this segment ends. The bad: Only works with VCDS lite which does not allow access to measuring blocks 20 and over or provide full names for simple DTC trouble codes.Simple adjustment procedures that are necessary in some vehicles are not available even if you purchase a registered version of VCDS lite such as Throttle Body Adaptations. The ugly: even if you pay $99 and register VCDS lite, you still do not get access to advanced measuring blocks and other misc features with the full version. Drivers on disc are abysmal to get functional and are seen as an impossible task for anyone even slightly computer illiterate.Summary: Don’t cheap out, and get the official RossTech HEX cable.

Works with VCDS lite on older VW
Worked as intended with free version of VCDS lite on an mk4 Golf to code out brake pad sensor light. Didn't bother with the included cdrom drivers, downloaded drivers online instead as other reviewers suggested

Works Good, Driver Help Below
My computer didn’t have a disk drive. I had to download the driver which you need to install for it to work.I know nothing about computers, but if you’re buying this cord youre already savvy enough to figure it out. Most searches will tell you to download a FTDI driver. That didn’t work for me, so I downloaded the CH340 driver, and followed the easy instructions which are the same for either driver. Just search KKL 409 and you’ll see plenty of vids/instructions on how to.You’ll also need VCDS Lite downloaded as well.Cord worked no problem with my Audi after thatTry FTDI drivers first and if that doesn’t work try the CH340. I just happened to stumble upon someone saying use the ch340 driver in a random forum after I couldn’t get the FTDI to work. This could be solely an issue with my very old, very basic laptop I have to use for this, so the FTDI might work for you.

It WORKS. Just gotta get the correct drivers
Everyone on the fence or thinking it may not work or those who bought it and couldn’t figure it out go to YouTube and look up KKL 409.1. You’ll find the drivers you need that way and an instructional on how to setup the cable in your device manager once you get the drivers! The CD that comes with it is useless but cable works great. Hope this helps someone!
