Worth the effort if you're experienced with similar tasks.
It's not trivial getting them installed, but if you do so carefully, you should be satisfied with the result. Make careful notes about assembly position and order. There is a diagram provided, but it's tiny.Be sure to clean up the inside of the valve body to remove mineral deposits from sealing surfaces without gouging any metal sealing surfaces. Use waterproof lubricant (probably teflon-based or something similar) between seals and their mating surfaces.

Rebuild kit so I didn't have to replace the valve
The irrigation system for my lawn is probably 30-40 years old. The valves were leaking pretty badly. I dug down to the valves, took them apart, and replaced the soft parts. The valves should be good for another couple of decades.

Good rebuild kit
This kit is perfect for rebuilding an old Champion irrigation valve. A lot easier and cheaper than pulling the old one out and replacing it with a new valve. Good price, fast delivery. Will buy again if necessary.

Couldn't use top washer,handle could not be removed. Couldn't loosen the screw. Wasn't leaking.
Basic repair kit. Couldn't find in hardware stores. Parts worked fine.
