At first I thought this umbrella was a dud. I clicked the open button, it went popping out, but it didn't lock into place fully extended. I tried pushing it out to lock like you do with a standard umbrella but there was no noticeable way to lock it. My boyfriend, his dad, and my mom couldn't get it to lock either. I was looking at at the instructions in confusion since it says it is supposed to lock automatically and all I should have to do is push the release button. The one thing we hadn't tried is fully closing the umbrella all the way. I pushed it back in till it locked closed the pressed the release button again and it launched open and locked into place. I've used it a couple days since where I was opening and closing it repeatedly throughout the day and have had no issues. The size is nice and can cover two people if you're close. Durability seems good. It is a little heavy for traveling and carry in my purse. Possibly I should have gone with a smaller lighter weight option that would only cover me for traveling but so far I have no complaints about the value of the umbrella.

One of my favorite sun protection products. The umbrella is a bit heavier. I have had no issues w breezes, although a gust did flip the umbrella but there was no damage and you just had to turn it upright again. The umbrella does fold back into case, you just need to be mindful of the folds going in the same direction when strapping it. It’s really not that difficult. The umbrella pops open quite easily, press the button again and the umbrella does a quick half collapse of the spines…it does take a bit of strength to push the umbrella pole back into itself.The only thing that is a negative is that unless you push it back in fully reclined, you cannot just pop it open again. So there is a LOT of popping open, collapsing and pushing the pole back in itself when going in and out of stores. I wish I could just do a quick half close and then reopen. But it doesn’t do that.Took it to Florida. The silver fabric was fantastic for bouncing the heat off and keeping me cool. Most ppl were fine, a few ppl were looking at me weird, but I didn’t care, bc I was not over heating the way they were. It protected my skin too. The navy liner did not bounce light around on me underneath the umbrella. The temperatures were brutal at 98*F and super humid. This umbrella kept me sane when walking around as well as protecting my skin, but you still have to wear sunscreen to protect from UV from reflecting off of surfaces like concrete. I highly recommend for warm weather where you don't want to be cloaked in heat trapping clothing.

The umbrella felt like it was a great quality and product. I loved the mesh in the inside instead of other umbrellas where the two separate pieces for wind protection just has a gap. However, it's extremely heavy for an umbrella this size.

So glad I bought this! I was melting under the summer sun and heat as a spectator at my daughter’s summer soccer games. Was using regular umbrellas to block the sun but they were doing nothing help cool and the sun’s rays would still pierce through the thin fabric. This umbrella ROCKS! I was amazed at the temperature difference under its canopy, and with the under layer of fabric, the sun doesn’t poke through and hurt my eyes (and the metal pieces don’t catch on my hair). Now everybody wants one to beat the heat!

I live in NYC so I have lost them twice but always buy again. The open switch works perfectly. The materials on the exterior and interior high performance. The mechanisms work perfectly. I use it for sun protection and rain. People come up to me all the time asking where I got it. Also the price is the best around.I used to get them from Coolibar but more expensive. Their quality is good as well but the price higher.IT shows what it looks like all closed with strap around it with a cover but, LOL it will never close to such a tight fit again, that cover will never go on it again, LOL but you can close it and still get the strap around it to keep it closed.

I was so excited to get this sun protection umbrella. But: to open it, you push a button. It shoots right out. Rather dangerous if you are around people or if kids are playing with it. To close, you push the button again, but only the umbrella part closes, which is fine. But, you can't just open it up again. It won't stay. So you have to push this whole umbrella back into the handle (not easy if you are struggling with weak/sore hands) so you can push the button to open it. Not very practical if you just need to close it for a quick trip indoors. Will be sending it back and looking for something easier to use.

For protection from the sun is great. But it doesn't stand up to wind. I have the larger one as well and that one does stand up to the same wind. My mom used this one and I used the bigger one and gets flipped about 5 times mine never did.

Estando fuera resistió vientos moderados, en los que otros paraguas que he utilizado se han volteado, se siente como si fuera a hacerlo, pero al final resiste. Aun no lo pruebo en ráfagas extremadamente fuertes, pero creo que ningún paraguas resiste ese tipo de viento, por lo que trataré de no usarlo en condiciones muy extremas. Las varillas son más gruesas que las de los paraguas que suelo ver, y eso me da confianza, porque a pesar de eso, no está nada pesado. El sistema de apertura y cerrado es automático, utiliza un sistema con tiras elásticas, y es fácil de usar, sin embargo, a veces no abre completamente si no extiendes un poco el paraguas cuando vas a abrirlo, me tomo un poco descubrir ese truco. Bajo el sol me siento protegido, como estar a la sombra de un edificio.

finally! shade wherever I go. its also pretty and small enough i can take it anywhere. super handy and the shade is solid. no light gets through.
