JUST TRY IT!! You will NOT be disappointed!
After my husband purchased the book and suggested we do it together, I decided why not. He was offering to do the cooking, so I sat back and did what he told me to. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea, but since he did the hardwork, what could I lose? The first two days were bloody hell. I had body aches and fell like absolute crap! So I starting reading the book and found out this was called the "carb flu". Despite of doing the Paleo before and not having these symptoms (I chalk it up to having too much carb storage after the binge eating of the holidays), I decided to stick it out since Dr. Kellyann said this was normal and stay the course! So glad that I did! We have 9 days left of the 21 days and I feelamazing!!!! At first the broth was a little nasty to me, but now I love it. (A little bit of Crystal hot sauce helps me a ton!) The other day I had so much energy that I cleaned my house from top to bottom from the second I woke up to the moment I went to bed! It was crazy!!My kids told me yesterday when I walked through the door, "Whoa, Mom!! You've lost weight!" I was beaming!! My skin also looks great! (I had a brown sun spot downright disappear from my forehead! No joke!) The craziest thing is that I don't have sweet cravings anymore. I know I will be able to do the maintenance program, no problem. But I do miss my red wine! That's the hardest part. But my body needed the break from alcohol and sleep has never been better.Oh yeah!!! Get this! This diet has cured my husband's insomnia. I'm. Dead. Serious. He is hypoglycemic and would wake him up in the middle to eat and this diet has stabilized his blood sugars so he sleeps like a log. It's crazy to him! (His skin looks amazing too, by the way. He actually looks like he has a slight tan!I wish I would've taken before pictures. But honestly I didn't think I'd have these kind of results and I also didn't think I would able to stick to the diet 100%. But I have and I will for the next 9 days.So glad my husband bought this and "made" me do this diet!****Update. I have lost a total of 12 pounds!!!!! AND I have a week left!! I'm in shock!!! If you're going to achieve the promised weight loss, you really have to commit . . .
I'm easing into this review somewhat reluctantly. Why? Because it's a diet! Writing about these things can be so tricky because some people try diets like kids pop Skittles. There's the egg diet, the grapefruit diet, the high protein no or low carb diet. And now there's the bone broth diet.The above mentioned diets (along with many others not mentioned) call for extreme changes to your food intake for a period of time to achieve weight loss.IN MY OPINION — please read those three words 10 times before proceeding: the best way to achieve weight loss is to:• eat less• exercise• have a balance of foods on your plate: vegetables, protein, fruit, carbs, and, always, water.Some people find it helps not to eat after 7 pm, and to break the overnight fast late in the morning of the next day.All-right, back to this diet:• it calls for extreme changes• you'll only see the suggested weight loss if you remain true to the laid out planI did this for about a week. I just didn't like the diet's extreme demands, and stopped drinking the broth, and returned to a more normal diet.Some people RAVE about this program; you may be one of them. It works for some, and not for others — a common occurrence in diets.I ordered the broth powder through a friend; it was never a taste I acquired.

I made my first batch of bone broth as per instruction, and I must say that it is as delicious and satisfying as advertised. A single cup of broth will keep you going for hours, and my husband loves it too! Use her recipes or your imagination to spice up the basic broth any way you want. Bone broth can be made out of beef, poultry, fish or lamb, so you can accommodate most dietary preferences with a truly healing brew. You might find it challenging to find the ingredients in a chain supermarket, but I found Oriental markets a treasure trove for cartilaginous goodies like chicken feet , ox tail and beef tendon.Cooking things from scratch is more time-consuming, but Dr. Kellyann shows how to cook ahead and simplify meals, so it is really doable, even with a crazy schedule. I was a bit put off by the feeling that Dr. Kellyann was trying to push her own supplements and products, but I guess that’s part of the territory for “a concierge doctor for celebrities in New York City and Los Angeles.” Looking through the Amazon excerpts of some of the other books, they all seem to be promoting the same principles:Drink bone broth 2 times a day as a supplement , or 6 times a day during the recommended weekly or twice-weekly mini-fasts, which is where the real fat-burning occurs.You are urged to adopt a diet that is essentially paleo by : no sugars, grains, dairy, soy or GMO foods, which are all inflammatory for most people; only “good” fats like coconut oil, butter (ghee), olive oil; try for organic, free range and grass fed as much as possible. Don’t forget to drink lots of water, stop eating when you’re full, exercise, get enough sleep (which should improve with this diet), think virtuous thoughts, etc.These recommendations alone should help one’s health considerably, so how about the addition of bone broth – is it really that amazing, or just the latest meme or fad? Well, I am trying the program out, and will report back on how it is going.UPDATE: Well, I didn't stick to it as a diet since the weight loss really came from the intermittent fasting, which you can do with any diet. On the other hand, I have permanently incorporated both bone broth and Collagen Hydrolysate 2 Lb. By Zint into my diet, and I can report significant improvement in both skin appearance and disappearance of joint pain. My new favorite drink in the morning is fresh brewed organic coffee, wizzed up in the blender with collagen, coconut oil and ghee. It's like Bulletproof coffee but better.

Thank you Dr Kellyann for this amazing book and all the tips. I was always apprehensive to do fasting but The bone broth is so nutritious that you don't need any food whilst fasting. As a added bonus Wrinkles and inches are fast disappearing

A bit too wordy but the message is important ....and it works!
As with many diet/health books , the author spends far too long time trying to convince me why it works. She gives page after page of anecdotal examples from her own patients and also quotes medical research from around the world. I just wish authors would keep their 'evidence' concise and incisive and then get to the 'how-to-do-it' part.That said, the book was helpful overall and I am now a convert to bone broth and mini fasting. I've been drinking it for several weeks - I've lost weight and noticed a definite improvement to my skin and hair. My skin has a healthier glow and my hair has become glossy and it seems to be growing faster. Very pleased so far.......

High recommend
Well written, easy to read and just makes sense!I've broken a rule - I weighed myself on day five and already I've shed 2.4k and 6cm - what an incentive to keep going!!I made beef and this morning it's chicken - really didn't expect to be so easy and taste amazing!!Great kick start to feeling healthy inside and out - would recommend to anyone!!

In fairness, have not done the diet yet...has other issues
The diet seems fine, basically Paleo with 2 days of broth fasting. Broth is super easy to make yourself, and you don’t have to use the recipe in the book, which would be costly. Lots of good recipes online. It is not easy to source grass-fed or other trendy bones and would be super expensive. My big beef with this book is that I need a magnifying glass to read the small text - why on earth do authors do this - to save printing costs? It’s so annoying. The other issue is that the recipes in her book, like the desserts, use her flavoured collagen protein and items only available on her website in the US and they won’t ship to Canada. I’m glad they won’t ship as they are super expensive, about $2-$3 for a cup of broth, made from powder. Who does this? I detest authors pushing their own products so much, that had I known this, I would not have bought the book. There are no attempts to show someone how to make these recipes without her products. Not all of the recipes, I’m thinking of the few dessert ones, enough to be super annoying. When I see this I deduce (whether correctly not) that the author is just out to make money from me and does not care at all whether or not I’m successful with my health plans. In this respect, colour me disappointed.
