Can't be beat
I needed two heavy duty, stainless steel, barrel bolts. After reading the many reviews of this lock, I decided to purchase these. When they arrived, I was extremely pleased with them and discovered they exceeded its many positive reviews.Although I had to return this lock because I needed a larger one, I purchased the exact same lock. If anyone wants a heavy duty lock that will better endure the elements, this is the one to buy.

Too much front to rear play.
I was a little disappointed with these. I liked the concept. The problem I have with these is that while the upper part allows for back and forth play, the sliding bolt part itself has entirely too much play in my opinion. The sliding bolt should have little "slop" in it as the top piece is the part which allows the back and forth play that you want. Not only does the sliding bolt part have too much back and forth play, but it has too much front to back play as well. I ended up putting a shim under the sliding bolt part to counter act the front to back play that the sliding bolt part has. I used mine for a shed door. If I had not put a shim in place, the door would not have seated flush to the door frame. They need to tighten up the "slop" in the sliding bolt part in my opinion.

Great lock when flexibility of door spacing occurs.
I used this on a heavy outdoor shower door that required a strong connection and flexibility on the lock to account for periodic changes on the position of the door.I also use a much smaller version for a screened in porch door that tends to warp.
