Solution to Lyme Disease without using drugs
If you read nothing else, read page 216-217. This addresses immediate treatment after a bite. I followed these instructions and have not gotten sick. Andrographics are especially impressive. WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS MIGHTY HERB??? DOCTORS ARE SLEEPING.? Instead of doing nothing and waiting for dreadful symptoms, these pages have instructions for how to prevent getting sick!!! I recovered from my second bout with Lyme very fast by changing my diet to eating 4-8 different vegetables at every meal with some animal protein, healthy fats and lots of nuts. NO wheat, grains, seed oils, very little fruit, very little dairy. I am 70 and feel great after getting Lyme twice. This book is a gift to everyone who goes outside. Congressman Chris Smith of N.J. Had a Lyme Disease Amendment that passed the house, Telling DOD IG to investigate the bioweaponization of ticks. It’s about time.

Now There's Scientific Evidence These Natural Products Work!
I think I was infected with Lyme disease in early May while trying to clear weeds from my garden. 'Think' because I never saw the tick and didn't notice the classic bull's eye rash, until late June when a small red itchy patch I'd assumed was black fly bites had expanded to an 8" long red oval on the outside and inside of my upper arm. Nor did I realize how abnormal my many mental lapses were--like trying to cash a check stub at the bank after I'd put the check in the shredder, or squeezing my car through orange cones blocking the entrance to a newly painted, empty parking lot. Nor did I know that my painful stiff neck was a symptom of Lyme. Or that by then it was too late for doxycycline to work.My doctor prescribed doxycycline for 10 days, and I was sent to the ER due to nerve involvement. The ER doc sent me home because I looked fit and my labs showed a healthy woman. But after 2 weeks I felt worse than before, sleeping 10 hours a night and having extreme fatigue in the day. Another doctor prescribed a 2 week course of doxy. One week later I had blinding migraines and the room suddenly started spinning around. I stopped the drug. That doctor then set me up with a Lyme disease expert, but the appointment was over a month away. And when I finally saw the 'expert' he pooh-poohed the idea there even was such a thing as Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome. He offered me another drug, cefuroxime, but I declined. I'd read a 2020 paper from Johns Hopkins researchers, "Evaluation of Natural and Botanical Medicines for Activity Against Growing and Non-growing Forms of B. burgdorferi". They tested it and doxycycline against a number of herbs in vitro. The antibiotics worked at first to treat the disease, but after 21 days they failed to eradicate B Burgdorferi (Lyme) in its second, stationary phase (often called round body or encapsulated phase). However, two of the herbs, an African anti-malarial and Polygonum cuspidatum, eliminated both phases.Stephen Harrod Buhner to the rescue! I ordered his book right after my Lyme diagnosis. It was a struggle to get through much of it, because it's detailed and neuroborreliosis impaired my brain cells. Yet I persisted because the longer I waited, the worse I'd feel. I had read the sad stories of many famous people like actor Kris Kristofferson, author Amy Tan, model Bella Hadid and singer Shania Twain--all who had been left untreated for years and whose symptoms were worse than mine.Buhner understands the disease much better than any of the four doctors I saw, and his information is helping rid my body of PTLDS (which he explains in detail and why antibiotics often fail (pp. 68-79). He's helped restore some of my lost brain function. I take the botanicals he recommends religiously. (Read Chapters 8 and 15 carefully!) I'm the Energizer Bunny after my daily drink of his Chronic Fatigue Formula (p. 239). Perhaps the greatest thing for me to know is that there is scientific evidence that Buhner's research is spot on. What is one of the most important herbs in his protocol? Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum)! But that alone won't heal neuroborreliosis, restore lost cartilage or return pep to your step. To heal you need to read this book. It's become my medical bible.

Nobel Prize Worthy Research & Work
Stephen Buhner is a wonderful researcher. My grandfather was born in a cave, herded sheep as a young boy for months at a time, and to this day is very connected to the land. My grandmother is as well. They grow plants and herbs, and have always insisted that we heal naturally. I am more scientific and was constantly wondering how everything worked and why. I felt like though some remedies worked for more normal issues, I had more to learn, but never any guide based on research.I bought this book, only available hard copy, and I have had nothing but joy reading it. Lyme and other similar infections are wreaking unseen damage on our bodies. If you have Lyme or suspsect Lyme I encourage you to read this book and give his protocol a chance. More importantly, I encourage you to read all his books on plant anti-viral and antibiotics. My personal testimony follows. When the pandemic began I started I searched for natural anti-viral books to see if I could create a protocol to prevent and heal from an infection. I found Stephen Buhner's work on Anti-Viral Plants that heal. It had been published pre-COVID 19, and when I found his section on Coronavirus, well... I was excited. I had already suffered a suspected, almost certain, COVID infection, but when I told doctor's that I had tingling and numbness, with memory recall issues- no one believed it was related. I told my family and doctors that I felt like I had a mini-stroke, and yet no one believed me. This was early February. After his illness where he could not breathe, my husband had a cough that would not subside and doctor's blamed it on allergies. During this time there was such little information on COVID-19. So, out of extreme caution I started us all on a loose version of his protocol- and we started to get marginally better. I stopped his protocol after only a month of barely on it. I was not in a place to do anything full throttle, let alone be my own healer, but recently when my grandfather got infected I went into action and began taking his protocol seriously. The moment I did his protocol on full blast- well, my symptoms have all gone and I have more energy and joy than ever before. After only two weeks on it, my husband's cough is almost gone. I stopped the protocol, but my husband has asked to go back on it. Stephen Buhner has a personal website and has published updates on his COVID-19 protocol for free... I have moved onto reading Healing Lyme and have found a wealth of important information and research here as well. I truly believe that all doctor's should be reading Stephen Buhner's work. I have three degrees, (BA, M.Ed., JD), and I am extremely cautious about endorsing or supporting unverified treatments. Stephen Buhner has done the research and he has used the protocols on patients. The most difficult part of his protocols is accumulating all the herbs and tinctures, which can be pricey when you want to do the full-blast treatment. Nonetheless, looking back, it has been more than worth it. Something I have also been doing that has worked very well for me is liver cleanses. I encourage anyone in tandem with Buhner's protocols, to do liver cleanses once a month. Thank you Stephen Buhner for all your work.

Thank you Stephen Buhner
Stephen Buhner has offered Lyme patients an easy to follow Core Protocol of herbs for Lyme Disease and similar tick bourne illnesses. Simply look in Table of contents for the Core Protocol. For those wanting more in-depth info, especially doctors, Stephen offers tons of well researched info on Lyme Disease and on each herb listed in his protocol. It is always best to start slowly with each herb to make sure you don't have an allergic reaction to it, which is rare. Slowly build up the dosage so that your body is not overwhelmed. He doesn't think that herxing is a good idea.I am so sorry Stephen Buhner passed away. He devoted his life to helping others heal by using herbs. Thank you, Stephen.

Very informative but could do with better editing IMO
Would deffo recommend - lots of great info, but in places, more could be done to communicate the significance of the technical details to lay readers.Important information is scattered throughout the book, so I would suggest leaving bookmarks for later reference, as the index is not comprehensive. He also gives varying dosage ranges (dosages given in materia medica differ from those earlier in the book), which is sloppy IMORather annoyingly, he gives latin/medical names for conditions whose common names would be immediately understandable to a lay reader. not sure why?Personally, I find the 'humour' unnecessary, but some may appreciate it.So, yes - lots of good info - it's like a reference book and a great thing to read for anyone suffering Lyme, but yes, could do with another round of editing IMO

Great resource for Lyme patients, their families and their health care teams.
Mr. Burner continues to provide information on Lyme and co-infections that the Lyme community desperately needs. I value his opinion and expertise. I have several of his books including the original “Healing Lyme” which saved my life. I purchased this one and highly recommend it as well. Even if you have the first edition it is worth buying this one because it contains updated information as well as the extra on coinfections. If you are in a journey with Lyme and it has affected your cognitive functions you might find some difficulty following the detailed writing but I encourage you to keep going because he knows what he writes. In my opinion the first edition is a bit easier to follow as to the herbs you need to take, but this edition has much more detail. He begins with the core protocol which consists of various herbs and supplements. Then you are to recognize the symptoms which are most debilitating at the time and add specific herbs for them. As you work through your recovery these (symptoms) are likely to change so in this way you will know what to add and what you no longer have to take. The Lyme journey isn’t easy but Stephen Buhner gives us a plan. I just use a highlighter and mark the things that I feel are needed to make it easy to comprehend. I recovered from Lyme disease using Buhners protocol (and no prescription antibiotics although his book does give information on that as well.) I have since been re infected and feel confident that by using his recommendations I will recover from this as well. A superior reference for the patient, family members and health care teams. If you are a health care practitioner who wants to learn more about this emerging disease this book has a lot of background and specifics. It includes an extensive bibliography. Buhner also includes a materia medica of the major medicines and a briefing of the possible side effects and contraindications. Plus he occasionally delivers a welcome dose of wit along with sharing his extensive knowledge. In Burners introduction he states “Healing is possible in Lyme disease, we have seen it over and over again - even in the most intractable cases”. I believe him and highly recommend this book to help you achieve this.
