Excellent Collection of Short Stories You Will Enjoy
Hillerman apparently edited this collection but doesn't have his own story in it. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed reading it from cover to cover on this summer's RV trip. The stories are a few pages long, and there are lots of them. Bookmarking the page at the end of one story means you don't have to page back in a long story to recall what's happening. I do not normally read short stories, but this collection is a jewel. Recommended.

Avid/Rabid Dana Stabenow Fan
In the last 4-5 months I have acquired & devoured every Dana Stabenow book & anthology that she's written. Read them all back to back. Feasted on them. What a body of work! It will be hard for me to wait for her next release. I love the Alaska books. Even got her magazine articles. I heartily recommend this author.

Hillerman doesn't disappoint
I have read many many Hillerman books, he is an interesting author who doesn't disappoint. Being raised in the area where his stories take place doesn't hurt either.

Mysterious West
This is an anthology of short stories by authors other than Tony Hillerman written in 1994. I generally only read science fiction anthologies, but it was pretty spooky that the very first story was set in an area I just drove 500 miles to check out as a place to live. Timber Cove is breathtakingly beautiful, but very isolated (and controlled by the coastal commission among others).

Read it.
As expected, a fun and easy to read book. Complex enough to be interesting but not so much you feel you have to take notes.

Read This One to Have Read ALL of Tony Hillerman's Books
Although I didn't enjoy this Hillerman book as well as most of his others, reading this will help you "complete the set" of his books if you are interested in reading EVERYTHING he wrote. It is well worth the read for that reason alone.
