Disappointing advice
I was hoping to get organic and healthy solutions to cleaning problems. I just don't really want to buy all the plastic jugs and bottles that have been accumulating in my home, and eventually in the landfill. Unfortunately, some of these recipes just don't work at all. I have not tried them all, but a few of them for cleaning was not very successful. I tried a couple of them that was recommended for cleaning the bathtub and the grout. I ended up going back over it with another store product. I still would like to try some of the others because I still want to live a cleaner life with less chemicals. It could be that there are just a few things that I will have to settle for the old tried and true. I did try the shoe odor remover with lemon oil and baking soda, and I was very happy with that. I am fairly new to essential oils so perhaps I need to adjust my expectations a little bit.

Highly recommended for safey cleaning options!!!
I love this book! I've begun to clean with natural solutions and slowly eliminate the commercial cleaners. I cannot believe I was suffering all these years with commercial cleaners that burned my eyes, skin, nose and throat. And these natural solutions work better than the commercial stuff! The recipes call for items you can get any grocery, general store in your area. I recommend reading this book. You'll likely find at least a few recipes in here that will allow you to save far more money than the price of the book. I would also like to note that the author does not include recipes with excessive amounts of essential oils which could be harmful. Before I make any EO solution, I verify the dilution safety precautions noted in Dr. Tisserand's book, "Essential Oil Safety." Sadly some authors are irresponsible with the level of EOs they include in their recipes, but I find this book to be safe and helpful.

A Good DIY Cleaning Reference but With a Few Modifications
This is a very good resource for those looking for DIY cleaner recipes. She gives some essential oil tips in the beginning and then it goes straight into the recipes by room/surface. My only issue is that she constantly mixes Castile soap and vinegar, which is a no-no. Two blog posts explain which ingredients should not be mixed or combined - Brendid and Live Simply. Recipes using washing soda don't notate that it should not be used on fiberglass or aluminum. Also, some of the recipes tend to have more ingredients then necessary. But overall, it is beneficial to those looking for DIY cleaner recipes. I use it and "Clean Home" by Becky Rainchuk and most recently "Clean My Space" by Melissa Maker. I'm still reading "Clean My Space" and will issue a review once completed.

Worth the price, and like knowing that I am using natural ingredients
The recipes are easy to follow and most of what is needed is very inexpensive. Using in place of chemical cleaners.

Do your research on some of these recipes....
Recipes containing with both vinegar & baking soda, will not do anything for you. Baking soda is basic while vinegar is acidic, their reaction produces water and sodium acetate. This is an ineffective homemade cleaning solution of water with a tiny amount of salt in it.Also recipes containing vinegar & Castile soap are ineffective. Castile soap is basic while vinegar is acidic. When you combine the two you get a reaction that breaks down or unsaponifies the Castile soap, turning it back out to its original oils. The mixture looks like a white, curdled gunk.

I love my essential oils and I'm glad I purchased this book. I like having a hard copy to look at instead of looking things up on the internet.

Excellent book with a lot of recipes for different uses ...
Excellent book with a lot of recipes for different uses for the oils and often more than one recipe for the same jobs so it depends on what oils you have or what smells or products you like using with the oils.
