Uart Sanded Pastel Paper M-148931 9-Inch/12-Inch No.400 Grade Paper, 10-Pack

As one is who new to pastels, I have been using inexpensive pastel and mixed media papers. They are OK, but in watching tutorials on pastel painting I kept hearing about "sanded paper". I looked it up and it seemed ridiculously expensive @$3.50 per 9x12 sheet, but I wanted to see if it was worth it. Man, the first time I put a soft chalk pastel on it I was amazed. I decided to use one quarter of a sheet just to see how many layers I could get before the paper lost it's "tooth" and wouldn't accept any more. I used every type of pastel I have, pencil, hard pastel, soft pastel and pan pastel -- I was amazed, depending on the vigor of my use and the type of pastel the minimum number of layers was 7 and the max about 10. Truly amazing and worth every penny.

Great paper for pastel. Not as much dust/waste left and easy to blend.Even if pricey it is still one of the most affordable sanded soft pastel papers.

paper arrived in warped shape and looks like paper container was handled/stored poorly.

Not as good as Fisk, which I can't seem to get now, but a nice quality paper. The pastel blends well and it is a mid to light colour.
