Usually stuff like this is developed by some mediocre part time developer who maybe kind of tech savvy. That's not the case here.Yes, for most children (and adults) this is better than the hundreds of apps out there as children aren't distracted by other apps. With just the book and the pen, kids actually follow along and must turn pages without going into a trance, getting side-tracked by messages, emails, etc.This is a really, really, high quality refined product that uses NFC (I think) and a very advanced program. For those who are serious about teaching themselves or their kids, this tool is second to none. I wish they would implement it for every version of every book.Pros:The pen is fast and accurate. No lag, no glitches -- works every time without hesitation.Volume is great with an optional headphone jack on the penAccurate. Point to the verse and it reads it, translates it, or gives the tafseer.Usage modes are merely pointing and clicking on pen buttonsCons:Hardly any.Okay maybe some button labels on the pen wouldn't hurt as it took me a good half hour to figure out which button does what. I didn't read the manual (probably should have).

I made my Qur'an, Reading Pen, etc. purchase on Amazon.Com. Amazon always has good products and good service with timely deliveries.I wish to improve my reading of the Holy Qur'an. Upon arrival, I could not make the Qur'an and pen play because the adapter look strange. Problem Determination: I found that Radio Shack had an adapter to change from the Middle East to US plugs. The 110 voltage was just fine.The price is very good. I was very happy when I was able to actually begin using the product. I have just ordered two more units for brothers at the Mosque.I advise anyone who is trying to learn how to read the Qur'an properly - purchase this unit with the extra 5 books. It has been a wonderful experience using our pen reader. We are discovering new ways of using it each day. Which, by the way, leads me to my only criticism of it. There should be more clear and concise instructions on how to use it and all of the features.

Vague instructions and erratic pen and the wall charger doesn't seem to work. The only plus is the Arabic Quran it comes with. It is barely adequate as a way to learn the Quran.Review update: the seller went out of his way to resolve the issue. He sent a new pen and wall plug, even though I didn't request it! The new pen and wall plug work. Operating the pen takes a little getting used to, but it does work and is very helpful for learning Quranic Arabic. New rating: FIVE STARS.

Wow fast shipping!! Also this buy was a hidden gem. I was wanting something to help me read and learn Arabic from the Quran and this thing I must say is super cool. I didn't expect it too work the way I was thinking it would but it did and some. It's going to take a while to lean how to use all the functions but it will be fun with the Quran pen. The Quran is very beautiful as well. Definitely worth the money!!
