The nicest socket set I've ever had
I wanted 6 point sockets , most of my Craftsman sockets are 12 point and they can slip and round the corners of a very tight bolt. This set is exactly what I wanted and is of great quality ! I think it's an exceptional deal for what you get.Great set of sockets !

DeWALT-- A rose by any other name would smell as sweet
I've resisted buying Dewalt tools since B&D bought the name and stopped making the wonderful Dewalt radial arm saws. Radial arm saws were a mainstay of the home and professional workshop back in the latter part of the 20th century and deservedly so. Now you have to have a table saw AND a miter saw to replace it, and they can't do half as much, half as well as a good Dewalt radial arm saw. I suppose B&D wanted the name to revive the waning reputation of B&D at the time. It certainly worked. Most, but not all DeWALT tools are quite good from what I've seen, though they tend to be over-priced for what you get.Lamenting aside. I had purchased a set of Hyper-Tough sockets from you-know-where and was pretty happy with them as they were dirt cheap and looked great. But, then I read a few reviews where people claimed the ratchet had failed. A set isn't much good without a ratchet. Someone gave me a $15 gift card and that was sufficient to upgrade to the DeWALT set, which admittedly has a better reputation. The DeWALT has two more sockets, a longer extension, and a very useful drill drive converter. It has a very nice case which is supposed to be impact resistant, but I have my doubts--The hinge looks a little delicate. The standard blow-mold case might be more durable but not as pretty. Pretty is important as I look at my automotive tools more than I use them--I'm more of a carpenter these days. The Hyper-Tough didn't have a case but more of a holder that didn't hold the ratchet very firmly. In general I'd recommend the Dewalt unless you are quite strapped for funds.

Really nice set for the money
I was looking for a DIY quality 1/2" drive SAE and metric socket set. As 1/2” drive is a larger ratchet, I wanted 6-point over 12-point sockets (something one can apply more torque to). This fits the bill nicely. The ratchet is 72-tooth, strong and solid and has a smooth action and nice hand-feel. It’s got a good selection of shallow sockets that lean to the larger end compared to some other sets. This was another selling point for me. (If I need to use a smaller socket, I would probably grab a 3/8” drive.) The sockets have relatively big easy to read numbers. The extension, drill adapter and case were a bonus. The case has some thoughtful features like a removable tray for use in a tool chest drawer and the ability to click-lock onto accessory cases.Since the description is lacking, here is what’s included + some photos:Dewalt DWMT73813 23 Piece 1/2" Drive Socket Set1 -Lockable stacking case with transparent lid and removable internal tray1 - 1/2" drive 72-tooth quick release ratchet10 - 1/2" drive 6-point SAE sockets: 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 13/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1"10 - 1/2" drive 6-point metric sockets: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24mm1 - 1/2" drive 5" extension1 – 1/2" drive drill adapterIf you want a set of 1/2" drive deep sockets to go with these, search Dewalt DWMT73814 for SAE and DWMT73815 for metric.A year and a half later, I'm still loving these I've used these for some heavy torque / breaker bar jobs including suspension work on my Jeep and car. They're holding up great. I recently bought both the metric and SAE deep sockets to go with it. An absolutely great value.

Good quality 1/2 inch socket set for the truck, not Snap-on but get the job done.
I've been using this socket set as part of a "On the Road" tool kit that I always have with me. They come in handy often and so far haven't let me down. The Plastic case is sturdy enough to bang around without getting damaged and keeps all the parts together. For under $30 you can't do better.

Longevity
The media could not be loaded. Every socket size my extension everything works perfect. I’ve had them for over two years now and they’re still like brand new.

Nice set
I needed a shallow 6 point 1/2 drive 21mm socket for my lawnmowers PTO shaft, where a 12 point I had would keep slipping and even an impact 6 point deep would slip off. Instead of a single socket I saw this set on sale and decided to get it as I didn't have a 6 point 1/2 drive set anyway (the old Stanley mechanics set I have has everything but 1/2 6 points!) The 21mm did its job and defeated the loctited PTO shaft with a breaker bar/extended ratchet.Overall this is a nice set, I like the fact that the tray can be removed and placed in a toolbox drawer without the case, and compared to some of the similar smaller drive kits from DeWalt, this tray doesn't appear to have as much wasted space.

One of the best socket sets I have ever used
I work on travel trailers for a living and obviously need to have a good size set of tools. I came across these and, I won't lie, I had my doubts. I've never been a fan of DeWalt (mostly due to poor experience with their cordless tool line) but these are probably the best set I have every owned. The chrome sockets hold up very well, I've had them fall off the roof of a camper (about 12 feet) and they have never cracked or even gotten scuffed. While not advertised as impact sockets I have used them on the end of an impact driver a few times and haven't had any issues. The 72 point ratchet works wonders in tight places handles a good amount of torque. The handle is very comfortable and easy to grip. The case it comes in is well built, I removed the holder for the sockets and ratchet so that I could also put in a small set of 1/4 drive sockets and haven't had an issue. Overall these are an amazing set of tools and I plan to buy more when I expand and need multiple tool sets.
