Audiophiles welcome.
X2700H - this exceeded my wildest expectations. It replaced a Denon S510BT that quite frankly was working fine but I wanted the upgrade to 7.2. So glad I did. I'm running Polk Signature Elite series speakers. I couldn't be happier with the audio quality. Incredibly clean. Incredibly rich sound. It's like the whole room is just draped and dripping with sound.Setup was simple as the receive walks you through every step. I highly recommend you run the speaker setup with the microphone. It's worth the effort. Promise. I've not run any games through it yet. I've only run movies and TV at this point but I can only imagine it's going to be ridiculous. 95w of power is an upgrade that I'm here for 100%Wi-Fi setup was easy. System automatically updates itself.Bluetooth and Apple Air play HEOS a plus. 4k 120hz with 8K upscale, the video quality is outstanding.I also feel like it's a great value over the 2800 with the same specs. But half the price. At this point, all I have is praise and no regrets.

2020 Model but ROCKS!
So have been looking to upgrade my home theatre system (about 20 yrs old) and had a Denon receiver and Mirage sub along with towers and surround speakers. I first updated the 8 inch mirage sub to a S120 Klipsch sub = WOW what a difference with "punch and lows" this was a big improvement. Next I searched for an AVR that wasnt $1000 + and searched a lot. Since I had a Denon and it served me well I mostly researched Denon but also looked at Marantz, Sony, Yamaha, and a few others begore I settled on the AVR -2700H. Denon has a newer version the 2800 but this is over the $1000 i was trying to stay under and comparing these side by side the 2700 has a few less options and connections but the same power (read watts per channel) and overall performance is similar but $450 less than the 2800.the receiver arrived and was ready to connect and listen. I saw some reviews where folks wrote they were up and running in under 10 minutes! Well congratulations as this took a bit more for me to complete and have operational. The intuitive set up guide is great. But you still need to wire all the speakers, sub, tv, power, had to look for one additional HDMI cable and then enter the set up menu on the TV. Step by step the Denon will send a test sound to each speaker and sub to detect a connection. One of my rear speakers wasnt wired correctly and the Denon found this and alerted me on TV and I couldnt continue till wired correctly. The system then identified all the other components connected and tested connections. Good to go. Connected microphone to run sound calibration, Denon took measurements from various spots in the room and completed the sound check. Listened to the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour and forgot how deep some of the symphony music on that CD. WOW was I blown away. Off to a DVD that I play through a PS4 (which Denon auto detected) and again blown away with the sound. Didnt take too long to get to this point but not a 10 minute job, more like an hour or so but thats me. You might be able to plug wires and hear music in 10 minutes? The App - you almost have to get the Denon app as the remote doesnt really do much except adjust the volume and a few other basics. I read that some had to pay $20 for the app? I didnt, just found on Google Play, installed, it found my AVR and BAMM, can adjust the sound parameters, adjust levels and many features that arent on the remote. The app is cool and installs on a smart phone and controls most everything with the new AVR.Next I was looking to upgrade my front towers and then back surround. This new AVR coupled with an upgrade in sub has reinvigerated my home theater system. Sounds these old ears havent heard in years from the same fomats in music. Yes there is a newer versiona dn more expensive systems out there. But for less than $1000 I upgraded my AVR and Sub and WOW its like old times. Luckily i live in the country and can turn this system up cause it cranks and sounds AWESOME!

Great receiver with some odd quirks
I bought this to replace my old Pioneer home theater receiver, which didn't support anything over 1080p. I was upgrading to a 4K projector, but keeping my 5 Jamo speakers.THE GOOD:• INCREDIBLE sound. On the same speakers, everything is remarkably punchier and clearer than on my old Pioneer, which I previously thought was pretty great.• Setup menus are easy to navigate. Very easy to switch between different surround processing methods.• I was prepared to buy a HEOS speaker to beam the sound to my bedroom or patio. Fortunately, this is not necessary at all, since you can connect additional speakers via Bluetooth, and even power them on remotely. If you have a larger house the range might be too small, but for mine it was perfect. There is a slight delay (as to be expected with Bluetooth) so you'll want to be careful not to have a bluetooth speaker within earshot of the physically connected ones. Also, you can't connect to a Bluetooth speaker and audio source at the same time.THE BAD:• The built-in speaker calibration utility is... not great. It kept misreporting a speaker as having the wrong phase. It cranked up the surround speakers and lowered my center channel, to the point where dialogue in some movie scenes was completely inaudible. I've heard from friends that this happened for them too with other recent Denon models, so it's not just me! I'd still use the setup so the receiver can compensate for the speakers' frequency response, but then override the individual channel volume settings.• The remote control is big and clunky and not super useful. Can't power on/off my projector like my old Pioneer remote could. I haven't gotten CEC working with any of my devices yet, but that might not be the receiver's fault.• Internet radio functionality is impossible to navigate, even with the janky smartphone app, and relatively useless.• Bizarrely, it also shows up on a network as an Apple Homekit device, which you can pair, but there's no actual functionality to be had.• While there are analog video inputs, this particular model is missing the digitizer, so you can't play any of them through HDMI, which means they're pretty much useless. You'll need a third party device to bridge them to HDMI.• As others have noted, there was a bug with this model so that 4k/120hz devices didn't work properly. I don't have one, so I can't test if that's been fixed in mine or not.Overall I'm very satisfied with this receiver and consider it to be a nice upgrade from my Pioneer. There are a few kinks, but no showstoppers, and I'll eventually figure out workarounds for most of them. Overall, recommended.

Excellent Denon AV Receiver.
Great AVR. Fantastic addition to the home theater. Zone 3 actually does play the sound for anything playing in the Main Zone. Even when playing a dolby Digital 5.1 movie in the Main Zone you can hear the audion ove the stereo speakers in Zone 2.
