Christina's BookReview- 4 Stars for this cute romance!
[...]"When you look back on this moment months from now, don't forget the one word I'm about to say to you, Claire Deveraux. Foreplay."RecapJessie Boone isn't your average popular East Franklin high student. Jessie comes from a different side of town and has a different way of living. When he finally has the chance to get a football scholarship to a good school he is prepared to fight for it. But East Franklin already has a starting quarterback and he isn't someone to mess with. When Forbes Henderson shows Jessie just how out of place he is Jessie extract revenge by trying to steal the one thing Forbes has and won't let go, Claire Deveraux. But Claire isn't like the rest of East Franklin's girl. Jessie quickly learns that what starts off revenge turns into something very unexpected.Claire Deveraux has the perfect life. Great parent, excellent GPA, great friends, a cheerleading and a start quarter back as a boyfriend. But Claire Deveraux isn't your typical popular girl. Claire hates hiding her true nature to please others. And when Jessie's Boone decides to rattle her cage Claire will learn just how sick she is of hiding. Falling for a boy from Collinsville was not the plan. Will these two finally be able to see that revenge isn't always sweet? Will Claire be able to stick next to Jessie after learning his secrets? Or will what they have fall apart? My TakeI have to say that I loved the premise of this story. I liked the characters and loved all of the humor, angst, and love in this book. While reading I had one statement in my head the whole time: "What you see on the outside is different then what's on the inside."Jessie is one of those badass guys that have the heart and soul of an angel or at least almost like an angel. You quickly understand why he is the way he is and feel for all the crap he has had to put up with. Jessie has his own issues going on but he has a plan, has focus, is incredibly smart and will do anything for the ones he loves. During the book I found myself hoping that his dreams would come true because he deserved it. He was given a shitty hand in life and deserved good. And that good came in the form of Claire.Claire didn't put with Jessie's crap and played her own game. She wasn't a weak protag which quickly got her on me list. She rattled Jessie's cage just as much as he rattled hers. The "foreplay" between the two was just hilarious and oh so wonderful. I liked her spunk and I liked her fire. I liked that she took a chance on someone different then she was use to and that she stood by him through the good and the bad. These two together made for some funny moments as well as lots of loving and heartbreaking ones. You can't get more realistic then this and the way the author portrayed there story was excellent.Claire and Jessie made this book good but one person made this book great to read. Claire's best friend Payton totally made this book much more enjoyable! I totally adored her from her first sentence and from there on out I was looking forward to her moments. When the author mentioned her story was the sequel I was delighted! Payton is the best friend every girl out here should have. She is real, raw and realistic. I cannot wait to get started on Shallow. The only reason this is getting 4 stars is because at I think it jumped to insta-love pretty quickly. I wanted more of the bickering and sarcasm before they both got on the "love train". I felt like Jessie turned into muss really quick.I would recommend this book and look forward to continuing on with Payton's story.

Trope: highschool romance, rich girl/poor boy. I suppose it's enemies to lovers but in a very minimal sense, virginSlow burn level: 76%Hero is the kid in school, transfer from the "poor" school. Star quarterback, which causes a riff with the current quarterback. Dysfunctional and dangerous family life. He is smart and talented.Heroine is dating the current quarterback, but hasn't been happy in her relationship. She is smart, attractive, and well liked. Considerate and kind for the most part. VirginInvolves cheating (main character)HEA (with pregnancy)I felt the story ended abruptly and could have been explored further. I would have liked to see them work through more of the hardships rather than skipping over them.Trigger Warnings: drug dealing, addiction, cheating

"You've got something all over your a**. What is it? Hot new guys eyes."
What a great book!! This was my first book by Georgia and I think its safe to say that it won't be the last!! There are quiet a few twists and turns and lots of drama in this book ... it held me captive from the moment I picked it up!!These characters were real, raw, and emotional. I fell in love with Jesse and Claire!! I want to be Paytons best friend cause that girl is fierce!!Jesse is poor kid, a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks who has most definitely been dealt a rotten hand in life. He has just transferred to East Franklin High School due to some events that have lead him to move in with his grandmother, who by the way is most certainly not your average grandmother. East Franklin has a football team that will get him noticed and he is hoping to get a football scholarship, that is his ticket out of his grandmothers house and the life he's currently living! Well the minute he shows up he bumps the current starting quarterback and takes his position. This causes major rivalry between Forbes (previous quarterback) and Jesse.Jesse meets Claire, East Franklins Highs sweetheart. Claire is a cheerleader, popular, beautiful, rich ... sweet fun-loving innocent and Forbes girlfriend. Jesse decides that he is going to take Claire from Forbes just to piss him off for being such a prick about him taking his starting position on the team. Forbes and Jesse continue to push each others buttons ... Jesse makes a comment about his girlfriend and royally pisses Claire off!Claire's friend Payton then convinces her, to get back at Jesse for being a bit a-holish, to punk him to make him think that she has fallen for him and then leave him high and dry! However this doesn't go quite according to plan because Claire wants the bad boy even though it takes her a while to admit it!!"You fictitiously announced that I liked what your hands did to me but I'm the one who made you come with one finger. Tell me now who has the skills.""Jesse Boone may have used you as ammo, but Wilma ... the boy wants to be your Fred Flinstone so he can make your Bedrock."But what happens when the boy from the wrong side of the tracks and the high school sweetheart fall for each other ... what happens when the bad boy knows that he's no good for the princess ... and all of his secrets are revealed ... guess you will have to pick up the book to find out!!!

Opposites Attract!
This Book reminds me of the perfect chemistry series by Simone Elkeles because of the whole 'opposites attract' thing. Jesse is the typical gorgeous but poor bad boy type of guy, he has a cr*p family life, involved in drugs, no money & having to attend a new school with pupils which are exactly the opposite of him. Then theirs Claire, she's rich, beautiful, and a good girl. They both can't help but be attracted to one another. They both soon find out that there's more to both of them, they are not the typical stereotypes of what they believe each other to be. & although at first they were both trying to use each other as just a game it soon ends up into something much deeper.I love Jesse, he is a good guy at heart, and you feel for him because of all the cr*p he's had to go through. & Claire you can imagine how shes feeling putting yourself in her shoes, & getting all the butterflies when your around the boy you like but not really supposed to be!The drama in the book is great I was cringing when Jesse meets Claires mum & the drama unfolds! I really enjoyed this book, there was enough drama to keep me occupied & lots of romantic encounters to keep me all bubbled up. One of my fave parts are when Jesse sleeps over! & Also when Claire meets Jesse's brothers, its very heart-warming knowing how much Jesse cares for them. The epilogue is beautiful, I think they deserved the fairytale they got!

Okay
This was a very good book to read. From the moment you pick it up you have to read the whole thing. I loved the whole interaction between Jesse and paten how they were always throwing shots at each other. It is a nice story with the typical bad boy and sweet innocent girl.Couple of disappointing points for myself is the whole story was quiet predictable and there were a lot oh grammatical errors that were confusing and made me back track and fill in the gap. A nice innocent book and every teenage girls fantasy cheerleader and bad boy tattooed football champ. If you like a good read then this is for u but if your over 18 I wouldn't bother

Reread and still loved it
This is one of those books that grabs you. Jessie is from the wrong side of the tracks but ends up going to a school full of more privileged children. He has a horrible life with a drug dealing grandmother and his only hope is to go to college and get away. He sees Claire, he thinks she's out of his league and finds she's dating Forbes whose place he's took on the football team. They fall for each other but life doesn't fall easy for them. It's well-written and the few typos don't interfere with reading. It's does contain violence and drug references.

Superb !
I really really enjoyed this book. There were many suprises in the story along the way which made it not quite as predictable as some romances I have read. Without giving the story away I nearly had a heart attack at the end of one of the later chapters in the book! My only wish would to have had more of the story from the end of the book to the point were the epilogue began. I feel so much was missed there. But all in all a fab read, well worth five stars. If you enjoy this book try Slammed or Easy or Reason to Breathe and Barely Breathing as I believe you would enjoy them too.

Loved it totally rocks
I think the assumptions made by Claire are what anyone with money would make and she seemed a total airhead at first just putting up with the status quo instead of fighting and thinking for herself. She makes up for it by really taking time to get to know Jesse as much as she can considering he was only with her to get back at her boyfriend. It's funny how he ends up the one that is smarter then her and no matter how much he tries to push her away towards the life she was expecting she falls for him harder. Loved it
