Brother LC41Y Ink Cartridge, 400 Page Yield, Yellow

Our Brother MFC 640CW is starting to fall under the category of an older machine now after the several years that we have used it. The LC41Y cartridge as well as the Cyan, Magenta, and Black colors are producing excellent quality of printed pages. I like the Brother cartridges due to their ease in inserting them and the machine for keeping the print heads clean and working well. Recommend these and also having some good recent results with Amazon's Re manufactured Ink Cartridges as well. The printer always reads that a cartridge has been replaced and goes right to the cleaning cycle when I use the Brother LC41Y and all other colors. We print a lot of gardening photos so we use a lot of ink through our printer. Shipping and packing is always excellent. Had to contact customer service as I ordered this item along with another item, and it was left out of the shipping container. They replaced the item without question, and we even received it the next day. Recommend Amazon to everyone as they save us a a lot of money.

The main complain is the problem with the knock offs being read by the machine which gives an "empty cartridge" message. The OEM are more apt to read by the machine with no errors. The price of OEM ink is very cost prohibitive for my business use, I purchased several knock off brands and had some trouble with printer not reading correct ink levels. I am on the fence with a repurchase of this ink because the price it so low. In the case I find a dud to have to repurchase is a nominal financial lost only a inconvenience to reorder and replace.Pros: Price, Fast shippingCons: Few Duds "empty cartridge" error message.

I admire Brother products - whether it's printers or sewing machines or electric typewriter. Long time ago, I did use brother electric typewriter in India while growing up there. Better than IBM Sectric typewriters. Many of my friends spouses are using Brother Electric sewing machines & they loved it. I used wireless computer printers whether its MFC-J245 or MFC-J450DW, I loved them & their perfomance are execellent.

Quality and price - good deal. These are genuine Brother ink carts in original vacuum packaging, not remanufactured. Many ink carts on the web are remanufactured, but the listing does not make it obvious. This price is almost the lowest for new brand-name black, cyan, and yellow (why is magenta price much higher ??). When I tried the least expensive source, they were genuine but outdated or nearly so - probably surplus. These were very fresh, carts dated 2009.05 expiration (purchased 2007.09)

While reviewers of other Amazon listings said that they ordered genuine Brother items and received a generic substitute, I got the real thing. It doesn't look like it's been sitting on the shelf for a long time, it's in the printer and working fine. The price was a deal and the delivery was quick enough. I'm happy.

I was afraid this would be a generic replacement cartridge, but I was very happy to find that it was the Brother brand, and exactly what I wanted. Really liked the price, and I would definitely order this product again.

i'm starting to really not like ink jet printers. laser is really the way to go. having said that, this ink cartridge did the job. and the price was fantastic from amazon. so i can't complain.
