Peace of mind
The app works very well, we have experienced no glitches at all. The beeping sound is loud enough to hear, but “soft” enough that it can just give the back of your mind that peace that you are monitoring your baby. It is not a disruptive beep. The soft beeping sound as you sleep is more like a gentle reassurance to your subconscious that your baby is ok as you get whatever sleep you can between feedings. It is oddly relaxing to a nervous parent, when you SHOULD be relaxing. For when you need to wake up and take action, the vibration and alert goes off as expected when you remove the device and forget to shut it off, so it is definitely loud enough that it would wake a baby and parent if ever needed. The verbal notification is good too-persistent and demanding enough to get your attention, but it is not annoying as you would expect something like that to be. It’s only going to go off unnecessarily if you remove the device and forget to shut it off. It only takes a second to dismiss the alert and finish dressing baby or changing diaper. This is great for any parent who room shares (if you want to be in a separate room you will need the base station which I do not have), anyone who really needs the portability, for example of you frequently stay at hotels, you just clip the monitor on the baby and turn the app on-no complicated set up with cameras and wires and under mattress sensors. This can be used anywhere that you set baby down, as long as it is not something that moves (like swing or car seat). In that case you get temp alerts but you cannot assume the abdominal movements as the device is sensing the movement of the swing or car. Overall, this is a great, simple monitor that provides just what I need for peace of mind. I’m not looking for oxygen levels and heart rates, sleep data, etc…I really just want to not be getting up super frequently because of my paranoid need to check to see if baby is breathing and still on her back. I use it extensively. This monitor has given me exactly that-it’s letting me sleep better and “checking” for me that she’s ok. Thank you so much for such a great product for nervous parents like me! Better than competitors for NICU babies
My baby was a NICU baby delayed coming home due to breathing apneas, so a monitor for breathing was critical for me. I received a Nanit and I purchased and Owlet. If your concern is whether or not your baby is alive, breathing, and safe - this is the monitor for you. I was so surprised as I bought this one on a whim, but it has been my lifesaver and peace of mind. This is the easiest one to use. Nanit is hard because the band is unsafe to use unless your baby sleeps with arms free - not right for a neonate with startle reflex. The owlet sock only has 15 hours of battery life, and there is always a risk of it getting dirty when you change the child’s diaper. Plus, it doesn’t mention breathing - just heart and oxygen. Neither of these are as good at also tracking if your baby is in a safe position for sleep (on back). Owlet cannot do that at all. And it is the only one getting a close reading of baby’s temperature - something I didn’t even know to worry about until he got home. And the Sense-U came to save me again. This is easy to use - clip it on the diaper. Its battery lasts FOR DAYS. When Nanit can only help you at night and Owlet can only help you so long, this thing laps them with days and days of battery life. You could travel overnight or 2-3 nights no charger and use it all day. It is also the only one I could take in the car with me when I cannot see my baby. All I needed to do was glance at my phone and see he is breathing and not overheating. Finally- in the NICU when baby has apnea, we go stimulate the baby to remind them to breathe. No other monitor will stim the baby for you - but this one does. It is not a replacement for your stim or supervision, but this one vibrates and beeps right at the baby’s navel if breathing becomes a concern. Imagine if - god forbid - you didn’t hear an alert. Well Sense-U is going to go off with a little stim for you immediately (before you can ever get there once you heard the alarm). Plus- you don’t need to go appease a base station (Owlet). This was the best sensor I bought and the one I use the most despite it never receiving the hype of competitors. If you want to know sleep quality or heart rate, get an owlet. If you want a great integrated monitor experience and your baby is sleeping arms free, get a Nanit. But if you want to enhance your monitoring of knowing baby is safe and alive - get a Sense-U.

loud and worthy
The Sense-U monitor has given us so much peace of mind, especially once our baby started rolling. It tracks breathing, movement, and sleep position so we can relax knowing we’ll get an alert if anything seems off. I love how easy it is to clip onto pajamas and connect to the app — the notifications are quick and reliable. Once our little one started rolling to his tummy at night, this monitor really helped us sleep better because we knew we’d be notified right away. It’s small, lightweight, and the battery lasts a long time. Definitely worth it for that extra reassurance during those transition months!
