Truly bullet proof a great palette
I just purchased a second one last week and dropped it with a HUGE crash on the floor as I was transporting it. It didn't break, dent or chip. I love the smooth, impervious surface --I even use it for making leaf prints with water colors and a little stamping with water colors. My new best friend. Easy to clean--room for lots of colors, easy to organize super functional. It is large--not good for traveling--fabulous in the studio

A great palette
I really like this palette, but here are some of the things I would like you to know before purchasing.1. It is a BIG palette. This palette is a lot bigger than I expected, a standard studio palette when opened. So if you have a small desk, it may be too big for u. However, I managed to put it on my desk after some adjustments.2. Like many other plastic palette, it bead if the the paint is watery. So, do not expect it to be like a ceramic palette. It don't bead when the paint is thicker.3. I like the well very much. They r big, perfect for my size 8 quill brush. There are only 34 wells. I looks up in different media, all of them has only 34 wells, unless u count the two tiny ones on each of the top corner then it is 36. I like the big mixing areas too.4. It is very easy to clean. I use a sponge to wipe the mixing area. No stain.

Very nice versatile palette
Although I'm pretty new to watercolor painting, I have purchased and used several palettes trying to find that "right" one for me. The Mijello palette is very nice, I would say it's the nicest I have found so far. I love the size since my studio is my fabric/art studio and space is limited and I can close this palette up and tuck it away. I love how the open mixing areas wipe clean very easily. I like the amount of slots there are for colors. The only thing I could ask to be different is maybe more partitions in more in the mixing areas. One side has no partitions and the other side has 3, I would like to see 3 on each side. Other then that this is a solid 4.5 star palette.

Very sturdy and secure plastic palette with transparent easy to clean surface
This is a very sturdy and secure palette. It is fully low sheen silver in colour with a transparent inside surface. I agree that it being listed as 'bulletproof glass' is tricky but I assumed that was plastic and not actual glass so I am not disappointed. It is larger than I thought it would be but I am very happy with it (a bit larger than the Cotman or White Nights 48 pan palette when fully open). Many palettes have problems with the closing mechanism and staining but this one doesn't seem to so far. They do live up to the claim of not staining very much and the Mission Gold 24 tube set I bought with it does stand out more clearly on the transparent surface. The paint beads slightly but the clear plastic allows you to see the colour so no problems for me there. If I buy more Mission Gold paints I will definitely put them in this palette or a good quality metal tin.Edit: 2024 and this palette it still going strong and holding up well for transport everywhere with secure closing and folding still.

Just okay
This palette is NOT glass. Plastic palettes always stain and bead. This one is better than most plastic palettes, but it still is plastic. So I'm not taking points off for that.. getting that out of the way first. My gripe has to do with the fact that the palette is very large, flimsier than I would have expected, and has wells on both sides of the fold. The last point I could see from the photos, but I was inexperienced when I first bought this item, so learn from my mistake...if you live in a humid area, this palette is not great for you. It's also large (as I mentioned) and the clasp is flimsy, so it's not great for traveling. If you are looking for a studio palette that always stays open, this might be great for you. Otherwise, I'd check out some other palettes. (I also think there are better studio palettes, too, but that's just my opinion...other people seem to like it).

Great palette. For travel? Maybe not.
The 36 paint wells, 4 large mixing areas, and the surface are the plus for this palette. The palette is large for my purpose of travel but largely because of the number of paint wells and the large mixing areas. For the studio, this is a good palette.

PLASTIC PALETTE - NOT GLASS
They really missed the boat on this one and the misleading advertising is shameful. However, just to maintain a balanced review with the good, the bad and the ugly:The good - The palette is a good studio size and the wells and mixing areas are nice and roomy. It is well laid out.The bad - it does not handle watercolour well as the pigment mix pools so practically speaking, this is not an ideal palette. The ugly - this is a plastic palette and feels very cheap and flimsy. It's really a pity because if this palette were made of the right materials, it would actually be the perfect palette. As it stands, it's only useful for children.

beautiful
This one fits all my needs. I love it more than any other palette I have. The paint wells are clear, so easy to see the brilliance of the pigments. Is it Glass? not as we know it. But I understand what it is and it is stronger than glass would be. I enjoy the look of this palette and the arrangement of wells and blending areas.I have ceramic palettes too--- just because I collect them-- but the sizes are quite limiting and are heavy.
