Works great in OS/2
Driver not needed for use in ArcaOS 5.1 (an updated OS/2 platform). Works fine in Windows 10/11 as well. For Logitech serial mouse and with Kantronic KPC-3+ ham radio TNC.

Need to have for Cisco
A must have cable for setup on a Cisco router or switch. There are no issues with these cables, connect one to the Cisco equipment and the other into your computer or laptop. You will need the free software "Putty" to use these. You can't go wrong for the money on these as you will need them.

It works just fine
I need to reset my cash registered and this cable just work very well for the programming task. I’m satisfy with the length, quality and durability of this product. I came along with a cd driver. Please double check, this is a female rs232 to usb. Make you pick the right cable (male or female).

Definitely not a straight through cable
This cable is a null modem cable. It works great except I had to make another RS232 null modem cable to connect between this and the end device as I needed a straight through cable. Worked beautifully after that though!

Works with some serial devices but not others
Did not work with my PoE switch. I got some gender changers and was able to use a different USB-to-serial cable successfully with the same switch.Update: ... but it does work fine with my Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station. I would guess the peculiarity is because of my Nortel switch's weirdness.

Built to work
Bought this and UGREEN USB 2.0 to RS232 DB9 Serial Cable Male A Converter Adapter with PL2303 Chipset for Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, Linux and Mac OS X 10.6 and Above (6ft)They both works great. This cable has nice shielding and thick wire.Both are plug-n-play with genuine Prolific chipset recognized by Windows 7.

Don't buy for Ham Radio
This adapter does not work with amateur radio transceivers. Get the Ugreen adapter with the FTDI chip, very high quality and works perfect.
