An adorable book. I have read it to my baby ...
An adorable book.I have read it to my baby now toddler when i was trying to establish bed time routine. In the end it says and somebody switched of the light. I would turn out the light and she would burry her head under the blanket .It worked as a magic. I have also downloaded an app version of this book. She still loves going through the digital pages.I would say it is a must book to have

Fantastic rhythm and flow to the text & fun illustrations
I love Sandra Boyntons books... mostly because my kids love them, but also because they've got such a great rhythm that they're so easy to read. The kids pick up on the words quickly and could quickly guess the ends to the sentences.I think it's because of the rhythm that my 10 month old even listens intrigued. My 3 year old has chosen this book to read before bed for the last month & my 6 year old doesn't complain at all... which is otherwise a frequent occurrence!

The best bedtime story ever
My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves this book and so do I. It's a little bit silly but not enough to create hilarity when it's bedtime, it's short, well illustrated and a lovely ending. My daughter can be heard over the monitor saying "they rock and rock and rock to sleep" even though the book is no longer there. She has memorised it already and it is favourite bedtime book, who am I to argue!

Wonderful book but slightly damaged
Lovely rhyming book for little ones- a shame that it is slightly damaged so doesn’t look new

A classic
The book is brilliant as part of a night time routine and parents don't get tired of reading it - I know it so well I've 'read' it over the phone from all over the world to my child. My 9 month old loves it and it's still a favourite of my 5 year old even though they've long been on more advanced books.

Nicely surprised
Really surprised by this book. I have the hardback version and although it's just a few pages it has become a favorite to read just before bedtime. The illustrations are big and capturing and the rhyme to the text makes it easy for children to remember. A small book with a big likability to it.

**Review for *The Going to Bed Book* by Sandra Boynton**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐*The Going to Bed Book* by Sandra Boynton is a charming and delightful bedtime read that’s perfect for young children. Boynton’s playful illustrations and rhythmic text create a soothing and enjoyable experience, making it an ideal choice for winding down before sleep. The book follows a group of animal characters as they go through their bedtime routine, from brushing teeth to putting on pajamas. The whimsical illustrations and catchy rhymes capture the fun and coziness of bedtime, making the process feel both familiar and exciting for little ones. What I love about this book is its ability to blend humor with a gentle reminder of bedtime routines. The repetitive, rhythmic text makes it easy for children to follow along, while the colorful illustrations keep them engaged. It’s a wonderful way to create a calming bedtime ritual and foster a love for reading.*The Going to Bed Book* is a must-have for any child’s bedtime routine. Sandra Boynton’s engaging text and illustrations make this book a delightful addition to any bedtime collection. Highly recommended for a joyful and calming end to the day!

All around fantastic book!
A child I babysat years ago had this book and I loved it, this Christmas I thought of it again and sought it out for my niece. Was surprised how affordable it was! It arrived quickly and in good condition! The contents are a sweet rhyming story of a ship crewed by animals getting ready for bed. The illustrations are really cute and as you can see in the previews, have a soft painterly style with gentle colors, which lessens visual stimulation. The writing flows beautifully into satisfying rhymes, rhyming is simple but this author seems to carefully choose the entire sentence, there are no mismatched words to stumble over, and the syllable count fits each line to the next like puzzle pieces. I know that sounds weird, I have OCD and wordcraft is something that sticks out to me - imagine singing a song and stumbling over a lyric because the syllable count is off by half a beat. Well, if you know, you know! This book has great flow, it's satisfying to read, enough that I still thought about it after 10 years, and I'm sure that is soothing to a child as well!Last but not least, it is a quick read. Great for that kid who always asks for one more story. You can easily drag it out or fly through it in under a minute if you wanted. All around just a great little book! My thanks to the author! :)
