Still have it , used it alot , really nice and have deep flavor notes , original. It’s good in curries and I even use it in my masala teas too .

I've tried maybe three or four brands of Cardamom, the not Black version. They all tasted great, none of them leagues ahead of the other, just all wonderful. This is my first try with the Black, and its...a little different. Yet, it's all Cardamom. This has more... I want to say, it's earthy. But, not like how say, Sage, is earthy. I has a, presence to it, yet, it blends well with the regular suspects, recipe-wise. I might stick to just this for a while. Really get to understand how it's different and how to use that, better. As far as the product as product, it's excellent. I've become a big fan of Rani spices. I love they are a smaller family owned operation, who makes no apology spices. Genuine, and quality!

What I received is not black cardamom, but chinese red cardamom. The pods are huge and the flavor is not like black cardamom. I hope Rani Brand correct their mistake.

Not as pictured. The pictures show a bag of cardamom seeds, but it is actually a bag of cardamom pods (as the title states).

Vorab: Das war meine erste Begegnung mit diesem Gewürz. Mit war wichtig das die Kapseln trocken sind, denn Feuchtigkeit sorgt fast immer für eine unerwünschte Bakterienzucht die dann in Fäulnis endet. Außerdem wurde mir das Gewürz aus mehreren Quellen mit einem erdigen, Duft beschrieben. Beide Kriterien waren hier absolut erfüllt. Die Kapseln sind trocken, riechen intensiv und erdig-gut. Die Kapselgröße könnte man nun zur Diskussion nehmen, aber Naturprodukte unterliegen nun mal immer einer gewissen Wachstumsschwankung die sowohl Regional als auch Artenbedingte Unterschiede mit sich bringt. Bin ich zufrieden? Aber ja! Würde ich wieder kaufen? Sicher! Wofür benutze ich das Gewürz? Ich mache Chili-Öl damit ... und mit dem was übrig bleibt, werde ich einige Asiatische und Indische Gerichte ausprobieren :D

Rani products are always clean - no debris, they're always fresh and when packed have a long best by date. Everything has the best flavours and always the highest quality! The black cardamom is completely different from the smaller cardamom types. This vacuum-packed, double sealed jar of wonderfulness has a deep richness that can't really be put into words. They're something you have to read up on and try if you're not familiar with certain spices. AMAZING! I will be buying these again. And again. If you're not already familiar with Black Cardamom, look up this spice and give it a try.
