This laptop is a refurb
I think the thing to understand the most about this laptop is that it is a refurb so there my be some left over glitches to work out. For instance I don't believe the battery in mine is quite up to snuff. But for the way I use it, that is just fine. It is a bit of a power hog on the battery anyway. It's processor is hefty enough to do some pretty heavy computing as well a moderately decent graphics card. I am not using this laptop for gaming but am using the graphics card for AI. I also split the hard drive and am doing a dual boot with Windows and Linux. 500GB for each operating system. It seems to work well.

Excellent, lightwaight notebook computer--now my favorite!
This quickly became my favorite computer. The backlit keyboard is very pleasant and useful for my needs while the backlight times out after a reasonable time when it is not in use. I have owned and used seemingly countless computers, and this is the most pleasant of all to use and carry. Battery life is excellent for my needs, but for convenience, I have it set up to keep everything running when it is operating on external power. It doesn't have a separate numeric keypad, but that isn't a significant issue for my needs.

Very disappointing purchase
Laptop was rated in excellent condition. We paid over $500 for it as a graduation gift. Refused to start after less than 3 months. Cannot be fixed. Very disappointing.

Looked brand new - and all features/specs as listed
Fast shipment - received earlier than expected. Booted 1st time and went through the windows setup. It has been over a month now and no issues. Did not need to contact the support team for any issues. One note for windows 11 update - You must enable TPM in the bios for windows to pass the upgrade test.other than that - extremely happy with this computer and purchase

Wonderful value!
This thing looked brand new, not a blemish on it. It was exactly as described in the listing. Fast as heck, too. Beautiful display. As soon as Windows 10 got fully booted up and my account setup it prompted me to update to Windows 11 (free). These Dell Precision workstations new cost $2K plus, so this was a really great deal.

Great but Battery Not Good
Great and strong laptop. Very happy with and would suggest. I will add that the battery must be bad as soon after purchasing charger needs to be plugged into it for it to be on/stay on.

Poor attention to detail
My first computer arrived with a non-functioning web cam, an excessively noisy system fan, and a cover decal that was peeling off on one corner. I contacted their support (they were great) and they immediately sent me another computer. However, the replacement computer also has an excessively noisy system fan, and when I went to open the laptop up to look at it, I found that the two screws under the Windows key flap were not the correct screws and wouldn't thread in; they were just sitting loose in the screw holes. Fortunately they're not integral to keeping the computer together. I'll just put in some of my own screws I've got. And regarding the system fan, I'm just going to order a replacement fan and change it myself. So to summarize, I like my computer and it looks and performs great, and wouldn't not order from this vendor again but I would choose another vendor first if I had the opportunity.

Got a Precision 7730 but all the specs are as good or better
First of all I am pleased with the entire experience, but since the specs shown on the listing are a bit confusing and don't entirely match what I received, I thought some clarification is in order.I'm quite familiar with the Precision 5530 as I have a company-issued laptop for work. It's a serious workstation-spec laptop for people who need higher performance, such as software developers and graphics design folks.I received this very well packaged in high-strength bubble packaging. It came with an aftermarket 130W AC adapter which matches the spec for the Precision 5530. The case shows Precision 5530 clearly stamped on the bottom where the memory upgrade panel resides. The listing is a wee bit confusing because it says the SSD is 512gb and also says it is 1tb. What I received was 1tb so that matched what I expected.Windows settings / About shows that this is a Precision 7730. Comparing the two shows that the Precision 7730 is a slightly newer spec than the Precision 5530 - they are nearly identical except that the 7730 has the NVidia Quadro P1000 graphics adapter (which I would prefer anyway) and (as the listing suggests) is actually a 6-core i7 rather than the 4-core which is the basis of the 5530. In any case I'm not complaining. Another advantage of the 7730 is that it has a direct HDMI connection in addition to USB-C, two USB-A and audio jack - with the 5530 you need the (expensive) USB-C docking adapter with the (also expensive) high current power brick to get a second monitor on HDMI.This all adds up to a very solid performing workstation-spec laptop which is good for software development, graphics design and other computing-intensive applications.
