Works great
BIG improvement over the "pump" type sprayer I'd been using... more capacity and NO PUMPING! It has more than enough pressure, and the variety of spray nozzles makes it very versatile. The 3 gallon size is a good compromise of weight vs. capacity, and the variable pressure knob is a nice feature - I found that with the triple spray nozzle, the minimum pressure setting was plenty to get the job done, and it conserved the herbicide mix I was spraying... maximum pressure was overkill, and totally unnecessary. I used the supplied teflon tape for all fittings and had ZERO leaks. No mess at all. The padded straps make this about as comfortable as a backpack holding 3 gallons of liquid can be - that's about 25 lbs, not counting the pack itself... so I'd guess about 30-35 lbs. total. This is not an inexpensive unit, but well worth it if you have a lot of spraying to do (I have a large patch of woods bordering my backyard, and the edge is overrun with poison ivy - about 200-250 foot frontage, and about 10' deep into the woods). This sprayer allows me to spray well into the poison ivy without getting too close, and holds enough herbicide that I don't have to stop every 10 minutes to refill it. My only gripe is that the battery is not easily accessible, in the event that it ever needs to be changed out. Also, once assembled with the wand-holder brackets and hoses attached, it won't go back into its box for storage. When on the storage brackets, the wand is not that easy to reach if you're not flexible... remove the wand from the holder BEFORE putting the full pack on.

Great product and even better customer service
This sprayer is amazing. It is wonderful to be able to spray weeds and not have to worry about pumping or refilling immediately. I was having problem with my sprayer and so I contacted Anne at Petra Tools and I have never had such amazing customer service. After exchanging emails for a couple of days with Anne, she talked to the company and told me that they would send me a new sprayer. That is not something that usually happens and I want everyone to know just how supportive they are!!!!

Decent tool but doesn't last
I bought this sprayer (HD3000) when I was renovating my front lawn.I got it in august of 2023. Immediately out of the box I attempted to perform the priming action but it failed. I called the company (Petra) and had a very nice representative walk me through an alternate priming method in which water is injected with a hose directly into the inlet inside the tank to prime. This worked very well.I was mostly happy with the unit over the fall. Between killing the old lawn, treating the dirt and spraying various other treatments in the back yard, I used the unit perhaps 10 times. One persistent problem I had with it was that the place where the hose attached to the wand would leak. This happened the first time I used it, I tightened the connection and it would be fine for a bit and then start again. Annoying but not a deal breaker. The final use I made of it in the fall, I was getting leaking from the base, down my rear end. I hadn't noticed this occurring before, however it turns out that was some level of leak for some time because the leaking fluid showed traces of the dye that I stopped using around the 4 usage of the sprayer. This was a little more alarming but I figured I would deal with it in the spring.I dried it out, per the instructions, and set the unit aside in my basement (climate controlled) so that I wouldn't be exposing it to the temperature fluctuations in the garage.I got it out to use last weekend (late Feb 2024). I charged it up overnight, got it out in the morning and primed it with warm slightly soapy water. Rolled the power switch and all I got a high pitched whine. I checked, the indicator lights on the front which showed that the battery was charged and turned off the unit. I emptied out the tank and attempted the alternate priming procedure that I was walked through before with the hose spraying directly into the inlet, I can see that water is flowing through the system because it's dripping out the end of the wand (trigger squeezed, power off).I turn on the pump again, high pitched whining noise, the pump motor is dead.I disassemble the unit to pinpoint the whining noise and it is coming directly from the pump motor. There is also rust covering the mounting screws and blue dye all over the inside of the case. This unit only comes with a 3 month warranty.I've got a call into Petra Tools to see if I can buy a replacement pump to put back into the unit and I'll report back on whether I can get it and how much it'll cost.I'd much sooner bypass Petra Tools and buy the pump from somewhere else, but the specs labelled on the pump (12V, 1A, 2.6LPM, 90PSI) don't conform to any pump that I can find elsewhere on the net. The other 12V 2.6LPM pumps are rated above 2A and have lower pressure ratings. I suppose I could give it a shot, and I might, depending on what I hear from the Petra.Edit: The pump from Petra, cost $35, with a $15 shipping and handling charge. $50 for replacement of the major part of the tool that broke with less than one year of usage. The cost of $35 is a little high considering that similar pumps are available on ALI for a small fraction of that. Only covering the unit for 3 months warranty is absurd, the fact that it broke so soon shows that the part is garbage in the first place.

Sturdy and good service
At our company we use our backpack sprayers a lot to apply herbicide and insecticide.Petra sprayers are very sturdy, have lots of pressure and the batteries perform as promised, both on the charge and output. The only downside on Petra’s product is that they are slightly heavier than others but this will only make a difference to you if you work with them all day.We also have found cheaper Chinese products that are just as good however our workers break a lot of wands and keep losing nozzles and we needed a manufacturer that can supply replacements quickly so we have Petra a try. This spring we put Petra’s service to a test because one of our sprayers batteries would not charge after the winter break. Jen was quick to analyze the problem and offered a replacement battery under warranty. She also assisted me with the purchase of replacement parts so I was very happy.

Make sure battery’s connected properly or damage to circuits will occur
Excellent sprayer but be careful if battery is ever disconnected . Make sure polarity of battery connection is correct as damage to circuitry will occurs. If not used for quite some time, you must prime unit using a soap solution. Be sure to flush unit after using

Great product
This is wonderful for areas you can't reach with your garden hose and for more delicate plants. Perfect selection of attachments. If you live in Canada, beware of custom duties and taxes...almost $100 extra, but still worth it.
