A solid chair for the budget conscious sitter.
While this is not THE most comfortable chair, let's face it - if you sit for long periods, what chair IS? I bought this chair because I'm making a career change. I've returned to school and spend hours at my desk. At the age of 50, sitting for a long time with my nose pointed toward a book can be hard on the seat, back and neck. I looked at all kinds of office chairs and settled on this one, primarily because it was on sale, was in my budget and so I clicked the "Add to cart" button and hoped for the best. It was delivered, and I had to work that evening, and when I got home my 17-year-old son had assembled it. My theory on the simplicity of assembly can be deduced from that sentence above. He didn't have any extra parts left over and the chair was complete! I sat down. I leaned back. I shifted the lever that keeps the chair in an upright position and sat straight up. Okay! I can live with this. It has been almost two full months of using this chair and I have no problems. Pros: easy to assemble sufficient comfort level - adequate cushion in the seat can be leaned back or pop the lever in to stay straight up rollers on bottom headrest is adjustable affordable easy to clean arm-rests can be moved up or down height adjustment is self-explanatory - you'll figure it out the "lumbar" support is actually comfortable - it's "there" if you back up to it but if you scoot forward just a bit, you won't feel it if you don't want to sit like that Overall this seems like a chair that's going to last me for a few years, at least, and not fall apart. In the context of size, I'm not a small or extra larger person. I'm an average middle-aged woman with meat on the bones. The seat is plenty big enough. I would recommend this chair as an upgrade to the hand-me-down office chair that just isn't comfortable any longer.

A Mixed Bag of Comfort and Construction
As a big and tall individual in need of a comfortable and supportive office chair, I was eager to try out the SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Office Chair. While it offers some attractive features, my experience with this chair was a blend of convenience and discomfort due to a few notable issues. Firstly, the assembly process was a breeze. The chair was easy to build, and the instructions provided clear guidance, saving me time and frustration during setup. However, one significant drawback was the plastic armrests. While they looked sturdy, they exhibited sharp edges, likely a result of the manufacturing process. Unfortunately, this led to discomfort and scratched arms during extended periods of use. The sharp edges detracted from the overall ergonomic design, leaving me with concerns about the chair's long-term comfort. Moreover, the dips in the armrests proved to be a less-than-ideal design choice. These dips restricted arm placement options, allowing only a forward position rather than the flexibility to rest arms comfortably in the middle. This lack of adjustability hindered my ability to find a comfortable arm position during work, leading to arm fatigue and discomfort. On the positive side, the chair does offer some appealing features. The adjustable headrest and lumbar support provided decent comfort and helped maintain proper posture during long hours of work. The swivel tilt function was smooth and allowed for easy movement and adjustments to find a comfortable sitting angle. The PU wheels were a plus, as they rolled effortlessly on various surfaces, making it easy to move around the workspace without any hassle. In conclusion, the SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Office Chair offers a mix of convenience and discomfort. While the chair is easy to build and offers adjustable features like headrest and lumbar support, the sharp edges of the plastic armrests and the discomfort caused by the armrest design hinder the overall comfort of the chair. If you prioritize adjustability and easy assembly, this chair might still be worth considering, but be aware of the potential discomfort concerns, especially for extended use. *Update: A few days ago a member of the company reached out and offered to talk about my review via email and took full responsibility of the problems right off the bat and even after I returned the chair they offered to help me in more ways than I imagined. This level of customer satisfaction is commendable and rest assured while my issues may have been a one time fluke, this company will have your back and will work with you to make sure you’re completely satisfied!

Good medium priced office chair with a few problems
I bought this during Prime Days and got a good deal. I am not an expert on chairs, but I've bought about six office chairs in the last decade. These are good chairs. I would buy again. Pros: - reasonable price - comfortable for both my self and my wife - seat is large, good thigh support, and soft - adjustable arm rests, lumbar supports, head rest, and tilt stiffness - nice! - somewhat easy to assemble - the screws and parts are in a blister pack with a couple extra parts Cons: - rollers do not roll as easy as some chairs Assembly notes: - as a retired tech writer, I'll give the Assembly Guide a 70% - it's all illustrations and the illustrations are not large enough - the parts labels don't always match the assembly instructions - don't forget the washers - it's hard to see in the illustrations, but most bolts use them - the casters are difficult to install into the bottom frame - use a light coat of three-in-one oil on the caster stems and they will go in easily - it is difficult to attach the chair back to the seat - put both parts on the ground and concentrate on getting one bolt in, the others will be easy to get in

Comfortable. Great Value for money. Easy to assemble. Great customer service.
I've been looking for a new chair to replace a cheap $30 chair i bought off of Amazon last year that had been killing my back and shoulders. I wanted something in the $150-$200 range and settled on the M18. Shipping was a fast 3 days with Prime and the box arrived in great condition. All parts were separately wrapped or in their own boxes. Came with all hardware and nothing was missing. Assembly took me a little longer then normal because i have rotator cuff injury in my left shoulder so that arm is mostly useless. The most difficult part for me was attaching the wheels to the base. Other then that it was simple. Once the chair was assembled i sat in it for the first time and started making my adjustments with the recline feature, armrest level along with the headrest. Next i reached around for the lumbar support knob and tried to adjust it but with my bad shoulder i decided to just get out of the seat and turn it around and adjust it with both hands. After spinning the chair a round to get at the lumbar knob i noticed a large crack in the plastic in the middle of the back of the lumbar plastic piece. I had not made any lumbar adjustments yet so i assumed this is how i received it. The lumbar support comes preinstalled to the backrest so it either was damaged before or during the shipping process. Either way it was damaged before being delivered to me. The lumbar support still functioned properly but it was still broken. I decided to contact Sihoo's customer support that came along with the installation instructions regarding the damaged lumbar piece. I received a reply the next day and after sending them some more info about my order and a couple pics they shipped me a replacement part which took a week to arrive. I swapped out the damaged part and after owning the chair for a week so far i am really happy with my purchase. Im about 5'10 180lbs. At its highest height level my feet reach the ground comfortably flat footed. The backrest fully covers my back and the headrest adjusts very well to sit on the back of my lower head/upper neck. The armrests only go up and down....not forward and back or tilt inwards. This is fine for me as they are grooved to fit your forearm while sitting at your desk/keyboard. The armrests are also a soft cushioned rubber material...not a hard plastic. The mesh of the backrest and headrest are good material and seem well made. The seat is very wide and the cushioning is firm which i prefer. Usually more firm cushioning seems to last longer and hold its form. The base of the chair is VERY sturdy and made of all metal. My chair is on carpet and holds its position very well. As far as recline goes you can set it to recline all the way back, half way or lock the chair in the upright position. You can also adjust the resistance on the reclining feature. So that being said im very happy with my purchase. It arrived with a slight flaw which the company corrected in a fast manor and was very polite in their customer support. I personally don't have a lot of experience with many office chairs and have never used a high end chair($500-$1000+) chair before to make any comparisons. All my chairs for the most part have been from local stores like Staples or Office Depot. Id recommend this over anything they carry in this price range....and i went and looked at their products before buying this chair as well.

Better than expected...
For reference, I'm 6'1" (fluctuating between 240-260 lbs. right now). I have a tech & writing job, so I spend a lot of time at the computer even at home. I also have numerous chronic joint injuries to include degenerative discs. Purchased on sale, so it cost the same as the last couple "gaming chairs" I had purchased. I could tell it was already several degrees of higher quality than those other chairs just from pulling it out of the box. Other chairs have thin metal bases which over time bend, the flimsy plastic handles snap off, and there just isn't enough seat area to go around. Not so with this chair. I am happy with my purchase. Pros: * Sturdy Metal Construction where it is expected; Extra thick plastic where the plastic goes. * 5 wide profile metal pronged wheel base; sturdy-smooth rolling wheels; well-balanced in all reclining positions; you'd have to try really really hard to tip it over. * 3 hard-set recline positions; Spring release recline mechanism (so you don't get thwacked); it doesn't recline to a full lying position, but it reclines far enough where you could fall asleep if using an external foot rest. The full upright is fully upright with no wiggle. Yes!!! * relatively deep seat; seat is wide enough for a decent manspread, especially since the arms can actually be adjusted outward rather than the static squeeze on the thighs; *noticeably more gas pressure in the cylinder makes it sturdier; *mesh back will enhance breathability; lumbar support is adequate (probably) for most people Neutrals/Cons: *The seat cushion is semi-firm, more so than "gaming chairs" which are soft and always bottom out very quickly. It isn't uncomfortable but not comfortable either, mostly because it feels like they designed the front for an edge sitter, rather than contouring it for your thighs. A 12-hour sit might not be in the cards. From experience, duplicating the mesh backing setup in the seat would be more supportive and comfortable than a foam seat. I put my silicone honeycomb seat pad on it. It fits perfectly so most minor inconveniences solved. * The head rest doesn't fully extend to my height for what you would expect for a head rest. However, I found that I could adjust it to where it is a neck rest and cradles the base of my skull. It is actually more comfortable when used this way, especially if you have disc issues. * The lumbar support, as I said, is adequate, but not up to the level of my $850 office chair. That's to be expected. A little more adjustability would be preferred though if you are going to advertise it as a feature. The seat is deep enough that I could add my own lumbar pillow, so problem solved. Trivial: * The instruction manel is a tad better than those Swedish manuals, and much better than most Chinese manuals. It is multi-lingual and everything is labelled properly and matches the labelling on the parts. It should be noted that a Shem is not a historical figure, it is a Washer. * Extra bolts and shems for every type. Not needed but appreciated. * Everything lines up as expected and tightens well. Even if there was slight manufacture defect, the engineers give you enough wiggle room for adjustments that you could even accommodate for effects. * A T-style tool was included. It was designed to make tightening a breeze and not aggravate my arthritis or rip skin off. Thank you! * A pair of cotton work gloves were included. They reminded me of Mickey Mouse gloves. The size reaches from my wrist to my first knuckle, so definitely not fitting. Also, the well designed parts and tools ensured there was little to no risk of hurting yourself. Although the thought is appreciated, the manufacturer could probably skip the inclusion. I will add them to my annual donation pile. Update (10/23/2022): Figured out the lumbar adjustment. It is now extremely comfortable. Disregard previous complaint. I've been sitting in this for hours now, and it actually makes my back feel better.

Comfortable and well worth the purchase!
I bought this chair in March of 2024 and can confidently say it is well worth the price. It's rare to find a chair in this price point that can hold up to daily use. I sit in this chair basically all day between work, school and video games and it's still comfortable. The adjustability of the height, back rest, lumbar support and arm/head rests make it very customizable. I also enjoy that you can lock the lean function or leave it unlocked. Super comfortable and will definitely buy again!

Good chair with some quality issues
I've been using this chair for 12+ hours a day for the last 5 or 6 months and so far it is much better than my last chair I bought at Staples with a few problems. First, overall the chair is still comfortable when set properly, the cushion on the bottom is a little worn out but is still comfortable and I find the backrest comfortable except for the lumbar support which has very little cushioning and feels like a plastic brick being pushed into my back, however I find that I can keep it mostly out of the way most of the time and it isn't noticeable when I carry most of my weight on my upper back area while reclining. The reclining angle is super comfortable and the mesh on the back is not noticeably worn out. I like the headrest which is made of a cushioned mesh, its not better than a pillow but it's very comfortable to be able to rest your head in a chair you are going to sit in for long hours and gives good support. The arm rests don't feel amazing, they have a very stiff plasticky cushion feeling that I'm not much a fan of in terms of pure comfort but they get the job done as I mostly only rest my elbows on them when typing. The arm rest adjustment has a pretty good height range and I keep them at the highest settings and set as close to the chair as possible. While the chair may be comfortable, I have had some quality issues that bring down my opinion of the chair. First, my right arm rest does not go as high as my left arm rest and I have to set the left one down two positions to match the right one Second, the back rest locking for the upright position is broken but I can rarely get it to work as long as I don't put much weight on the back. I would imagine that most people would want to lock the chair upright as opposed to the other positions. Third, the 3 screws holding in the backrest untighten themselves over time, causing the backrest to move to its furthest back position and rock left or right if I lean on either side. When I tighten them again they will usually last about 1-2 weeks before becoming mostly loose again. There is no danger of the screws completely falling out though, just losing their tightness Lastly, I'm not sure how stable or secure the wood panel at the bottom of the seat that everything attaches to is strong enough, I used to have my armrests adjusted out further from the center but when I would lift up on my arms to adjust my seating position I would occasionally hear a sound of the wood stressing under the torque from the armrests. since I moved both armrests as close to the center as I can this has not happened; I would like them a little bit wider but I don't want to risk breaking the chair over it. Also, one of the factory-installed screws in the bottom seat panel fell out and wont stay back in but I haven't noticed any problems other than the risk of stepping on a screw caused by it While this is likely the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, I have to give it 3 stars for the uncomfortable lumbar support and the quality control issues. If the QC issues were fixed I could easily give this chair a 4 star review

Best Chair EVER! Read how it was determined…
I started working from home in June. I had an old 20+ year desk chair that had seen better days, and it was so uncomfortable, not sure why I was still using it. My knees and back hurt after sitting on it for 8+ hours a day. Mind you, I had come from a field job where I sat in my car for 8 hours a day, and that was even more comfortable than my old desk chair. So, figured it was time to purchase a new desk chair. I didn’t want to spend a fortune and I looked at the local office stores and they were either too expensive or just not comfortable when I sat on them. So I decided to check out Amazon and I am so glad that I did!! I actually ordered 3 different chairs as I wasn’t sure what size or type would work for me. When they arrived, it was like Goldie Locks and the 3 bears story. I set each chair bottom and backs on my couch (didn’t want to put them together, to not be able to get apart to return), and lined up side by side, it was looking at small, medium and large chairs in a row. One was too small, one was too hard and back too short, and one was just right, which was this chair!! It was the tallest of the three and seemed the best quality as well. I was concerned that the bottom cushion was going to be too hard, but when put together and used daily it actually is very comfortable. It gives support and my knees don’t hurt at the end of 8 hours! The back gives just the right support and is nice that it can lean back if you need it too. I haven’t really had a need to use the headrest, but know it is there if I need it, which neither of the other chairs came with. After using every day for the past two months, there have been no problems or complaints when using this chair. It moves around fine and the arm rests are comfortable with the slightly indented center areas for your arms to rest. The one and only thing is it has started to squeak from time to time, so I hope that it doesn’t get worse. I haven’t tried to source where it is coming from or tried to oil it, so for now it is a very minor nuisance. Overall for the price and the quality and comfort I would recommend this chair and hope that it lasts for years to come!!!
