Never knew that I needed special Butter Spreader until I got this product. I love it! The design & functionality are so much better than using a regular knife. Very pleased & great value.

Purchase the smallest size. As I purchased the larger thinking it would be a normal sized butter knife and it is even longer than some of my dinner knives. Besides being larger than the expected it’s a good knife.

I agree with most negative reviewers that the "curler" side does not deliver the butter the way the picture shows.... BUT, the serrated side does a great job at getting a thin slice of cold butter to spread easily onto a piece of bread or english muffin, so I did not return the knife.

I really like this knife. It can be used on sticks, blocks and tub butter (like kerrygold) for way easier spreading of butter on bread, rolls, etc. You'll find better ways to work with ribbons of butter, instead of chunks, because of the way the knife is designed. It's also very reasonably priced and of made of sturdy material.

These things work so well on cold butter when you can't wait for it to soften on its own. Scrape up some curly ribbons of butter and let that warm up a little on your plate before trying to spread it. It will warm up much faster compared to a pat of butter. A butter lover's best friend!

Very heavy duty, well made knife

I used to absolutely shred my toast whenever I buttered or jammed (or both'ed) it. This spreader makes it so much easier to apply a liberal amount of spread onto my toast quickly, meaning I'm less likely to rip a hole in it. I still don't know how to use it effectively (what's the point of the circles along the edge? Should come with a tiny instruction card lol), but just the fact that its a larger flat surface already makes it easier to butter my toast. Clean up is a little bit of a pain since, because it's just butter and it's a larger surface, hot water isn't enough. Just add a drop of dishwashing liquid (or use a dishwasher) and it's no problem though.

I'm surprised this knife isn't sold out. It's an absolute kitchen staple and MUST HAVE!

I've used this on margarine, butter and 'spreadable' butter. This works as advertised and makes the individual strings. It makes it slightly easier to spread because of that, but not as much as I expected. I use it every time though so for a price that's only slightly more than a normal butter knife, its a decent purchase.
