Better for bigger hands but it works well
The media could not be loaded. Before you go using this, make sure to go to your system settings and make sure you turn on the 'Pro Controller Wired Communication' option. This controller is very much like an xbox controller- large and made for bigger hands. Even the trigger buttons feel bouncy/springy like an xbox controller. It doesn't mean its bad, however it did take a while to get used to.It comes with two extra button caps for the right stick, but I stuck with the default small one [later on I realized that the bigger sizes were SOOO much more comfortable].With that said, the controller isn't bad if you prefer handheld gaming. I used it to play Animal Crossing and it worked almost perfectly. It connected to the switch in less than a minute and most of the time it was responsive- except the ZR button which had a few seconds delay to it when pressed.Breakdown:Pros:+ The buttons are bigger and bulge out more, so it's easier to press down on [compared to the joycon, where it's difficult to press the minus or plus button]+ Different sizing thumb caps for the right stick+ Quick to pair up with the switch - just please don't jam it in unless you want your switch to be permanently stuck in+ Nice rumble vibrationCons:- The left stick felt more stiffer- Slight delay with the ZR button- If your switch is in sleep mode, you can not turn it on via the home button on the controller [with the joycon you can] . You either have to activate it with the joycon, or press the power button.

Best alternative to joycons
To start - I ordered this because it connects via usb-c as a pro controller, my left joycon rail has intermittent connectivity issues and this is a great workaround. The product received was the Dobe TNS-19252, another great deal as the Dobe of one of the higher rated controller grips and this is cheaper than it is direct from Dobe.Pros: Super sturdy, connected perfectly first try, feels great, USB-C connector recognized my charger as an official charger (which means fast charging works perfectly), buttons are very responsive with no noticeable lag.Cons: Right thumb stick feels a little cheap compared to the rest of the controller, but it's not terrible. Rumble is strong, it's okay for games like Smash Bros but I found it overwhelming on most games (you can turn it off in the main settings though)Overall: For under $30, you're not going to beat this. It's a great deal and very good quality.

A perfect grip for on the go or in the city.
I have mostly used my Switch in the docked mode and really wanted to try playing it in handheld more often. This has been fantastic to use. The grip itself has a very solid feel and the actual insertion of the switch was a breeze and was easy to insert and release from the grip.Once inserted the switch feels tight in place and the grip still has a good weight to it and doesn’t feel too bulky. I was worried after about the size of the grip but it feels good in your hands. The texture of the grip feels sturdy and soft.It also comes with interchange button tops to change the size of the thumb stick. Love the orange and black of the grip, I’m hoping more colors come out. One thing I noticed is that you might have to sleep the switch to ensure that it’s not trying to connect to the joy con. Other than that I haven’t had any issues using it. I think it’s awesome that they also included vibration, so it truly feels like complete system. I definitely would recommend this grip to anyone want to play in handheld mode but feel that joycons are a little on small side.

Console-feel, great rumble, feels sturdy
I don’t know why the picture shows a red stick to the right. It’s clearly orange if you look at these photos. Maybe that was an earlier version but as you can see, this product is only offered in orange. This is a good controller! It’s just got some tough competition. The Hori Split Pad Pro is really unbeatable but I like this controller because it provides RUMBLE which the Hori does NOT. It’s good rumble too. I prefer it to the JoyCon buzzing rumble. Not to mention this costs $10 less than Hori. Also this thing just feels STURDY when you slide the Switch in. It feels like a whole different gaming system as it becomes one piece! Remember to read the instruction slip in the box cuz you WILL need to change a setting in your system to allow wired controllers. The controller stick on the left is UNMATCHED. WHY can’t other companies get this down? I have the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, Power A, 8-bit Do, and none of them have the awesome left stick this controller has. It’s textured like it’s straight off an Xbox One controller. I was NOT expecting this. Which is why the right stick is so sad..The left stick has rubber grip with ridges. The right stick.. is just hard cheap slippery plastic. You get this controller because you want precision controls for 3D games for a console-like experience. Yet you don’t have the control in-game that you need, because you only get one awesome stick. You were SO close. Thankfully, they give you 3 plastic stick tips to choose from for the right one so you can choose what works for you, and it IS doable and playable. It’s just such a missed opportunity.Another complaint is that the controller is bulky. I’ve got big hands so I got used to it after a bit, but yeah it’s kinda clunky. The Hori Split Pad has issues with comfort too so this one is kind of a wash to me. They’re just both awkward in their own ways. At least this one is rounded so it doesn’t stab into your hand. Just would have preferred so more ergonomics. But like I said, you get used to it. It feels nice and sturdy. The buttons feel REALLY good when you press them, and they’ve got good texture to them, subtle but helpful enough to let your fingers grip em.This one is a good solution if you want rumble at a $10 savings and don’t mind an awkward right stick.
