MOST COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO THE INNER WORKINGS OF A FAMILY OFFICE
A lot of people struggle to understand what a family office is and its purpose. People who have the money to run one need to learn what it is from a trustworthy source, and this book is that place. Everything you need to know is laid out here. Yes, it's a long read. But there is no "Dummies Guide to the Family Office' for a good reason. This is a complex subject and watering it down wouldn't be helpful. I found the anecdotes and case studies and examples kept the narrative conversational and held my interest. Kirby Rosplock knows this subject well and is highly respected in the global family office community. If you are a family office, want to be one or work in this sector, you need this book on your shelf. It's on mine.

A Comprehensive Guide
How refreshing to read a book on family offices that truly understands the complexities and subtleties of this opaque community. This book will surely become the definitive guide - following on from the first edition - both for family offices and their advisers - on how families can not only preserve their wealth, but also flourish in all aspects, whilst having a positive impact on the world.

Another Paper Weight
I bought several books to study family offices, and they have all been incredibly bad books.I read about 100 books a year, so I know what makes a good or bad book. But what I don't know is why investment professionals can't seem to write anything clearly or helpfully. It's certainly industry-wide. And this book is no exception. If you make the mistake of spending your time on this book, you will read lots of categoricals, and very little specifics.I estimate close to zero specifics. And those categoricals will be described vaguely and in passive voice.Aka, difficult to read, difficult to understand, and then if you do either of those... There is nothing specific for all of that work in the first place.Another dog.

Foundational Resource for any Family Office, Multi-Family Office, or Ultra-High-Net-Worth Advisor
I love Dr. Rosplock's approach to this book. All of the necessary essentials for any family office, and she draws in a variety of leading professionals to provide additional color in certain areas of the book. This book has been a staple in our office ever since the first edition and I was pleased to hear Dr. Rosplock would be doing a revised edition. Highly recommend.

Obtuse, poor quality
An exciting subject is made unbearably obtuse by a poor style of writing. Give me the facts - make them concise and to the point. The lack of accurate brevity annoyingly obscures the subject matter, making it virtually unintelligible. After a brief foray, I found this book to be unbearable and will be returning it for something written more professionally. The book itself is made of very cheap, low quality paper and has a faint musty smell. The ultra thin pages had to painstakingly be pulled apart and a highlighter could not be used without bleeding through. This book will not age well.Robin
