Great, although not long lasting
The pocket hose is the best lightweight hose for patios. That said, they do tend to develop holes and leaks within 1-2 years and need to be replaced. If you appreciate the lightness and convenience, it's worth the expense to replace them. It does help extend their life by completely emptying the hose of water after you've turned it off a the tap.

Very irritating before I've even used it
I haven't even used it, but I already find this product irritating. Complaints: 1. The Pocket hose Ultra Comes in a nifty-looking plastic tub that I thought would be useful. However, the cap is sealed so it can only be removed by cutting the container, like one of those irritating clamshell plastic packages. Not only is the container then not useful, but having to cut open the plastic with a sharp instrument risked slicing the hose or my hand. 2. "Pocket" hose? No way it fits in any reasonable pocket. Inside, the package says "After use ... the Pocket Hose Ultra will shrink to its original size." Several reviews have noted that it will never again return to the original size, although it will shrink considerably. Most of my irritation comes from making the mistake of reading the smallish print on the grey inside of the brightly colored package liner. 3. The package shows a nice picture of the hose hung outside, waiting to be conveniently used. But, on the inside, the packaging says "To prolong the life of your Pocket Hose Ultra, completely drain and ALWAYS store INDOORS when not in use." Really? Completely drain a hose that's designed to wrinkle itself up? How is that even possible? Hook it up to my compressor and blow air through it? Of course, the package's advice would apply to any hose, but who would do that?. There's no indication as to how long the hose will last, with or without indoor, dry storage, but their capitalization of "ALWAYS store INDOORS" sure makes this seem essential. Before you decide to stretch out the hose to dry the inside, be sure to read the rest of package warnings, or this review. 4. More from the inside of the package: "WARNING ... Keep out of reach of children and pets. ... DO NOT leave this product unattended when it is in use or under pressure. . This product is NOT A TOY." Really? Of course, the listing doesn't mention that, and you discover it only after you've hacked the package open. But, who reads or pays attention to these warnings anyway? 5. The package has a picture showing two, thin grey stripes, and says "Exclusive Solar Stripe Longer Life Technology." These two thin stripes will protect it from the sun? Really? And, who cares since it's so delicate they say we're supposed to keep it safe and dry, indoors? 6. A nice little bonus -- the hose comes with an adapter with an on/off valve at the male end. BUT, the print on the inside of the package, says "NOTE: DO NOT use the Adapter if you are using a spray nozzle." Really? Why not? I can't even figure out how that makes any sense. 7. What does seem clear is that this hose is so delicate that you should never pull it anywhere using the end pieces -- instead, pull it while just holding onto the hose itself. I've read consumers' frustration with the hose disconnecting from the connectors. I think I'll reinforce the connection with some epoxy because somehow it doesn't look very strong. 8. The warnings also include "NEVER stretch or expand the hose when empty or not under water pressure. Hose will snap back if stretched and released, and may case serious injury. . Strangulation hazard. Hose wrapped around neck may cause serious injury or death." Next time I am in the garden, with my Pocket Hose, maybe I should check my life insurance policy, to see if use of the Pocket Hose is listed with activities that would void my policy, like sky diving. Still, I'm keeping the Pocket hose Ultra. It wasn't expensive. Every once in a while I end up needing a hose to be a little bit longer, and this looks very handy for that purpose.

a very good quality product... worth tje small additional cost
A quality product at a good price... works great with the heavier material around the expandable inner hose. This hose is very good quality and you need not worry about leaks and should give suitable service for the price. These types of hoses work well in inside such as dog kennels which we use and greenhouses... JUST DO NOT GET NEAR PLANTS WITH NEEDLES SUCH A CACTUS OR HOLLY... THE NEEDLES READILY PENETRATE THE FABRICK AND THE INNER HOSE.... THESE are not a replacement for heavy commercial hose used daily being dragged along concrete and other abrasive surfaces..

Really handy but a bit fragile
This is the third one of these I have and I do like them for their compactness. They definitely do the job. However, they require care in handling. Most importantly - make sure that the hose does not twist on itself or get knotted. What happens then is, that the thin tubing inside gets twisted and eventually the pressure will burst the inner tube (my last one did that - b/c I did not realize it was getting more and more twisted I believe). The trick is to make sure that the whitish lines you see on the hose outer coat are always straight and that the hose does not try to kink. If it does, make sure to unhook it from the tap and just hang it over a gate or on washing line so that it can untwist itself. Also, while using it, the inside tubing can tear if you yank the hose around something jaggy like a wall or bricks and then you'll have a leak. So, make sure you have a clear path for the hose to be laid out on. After use I just coil it up and put it in an empty flowerpot and keep it out of the way. So far, so good.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS POS !
A COMPLETE POS !!! might as well be a scam. Yeah, I went against better judgement basing my purchase on a VERY few positive reviews I read believing just maybe there had been improvements as it was the perfect size for my deck. And it was great until it exploded after a couple of weeks. All I can say is that if ANYONE has this hose last for more than a couple weeks of sparse usage, they must have extremely low water pressure, such as on a boat or RV...andI always turned my water off immediately after using it and relieved all water in the line. Unfortunately, I didn't even open mine and use it for over two weeks after receiving it, so returning (the pieces) for refund fell beyond the 30 day window. Hey, AMAZON!!! Are you reading these reviews at all??? Pull this piece of CRAP!!! It will not stand up to any water pressure and last more than a month or two at best.

Leaks...
I bought this product only 4 months ago. I had never left the tap open while not using it. I just did and there is a hole that result in a leak. That's a real shame as it makes the product completely not usable. I like the product concept but would never buy it again considering how bad the quality.

It's ture - it doesn't tangle.
So handy when your space is limited. It folds up into such a small area. Instead of a giant hose pot I now just use a small plant pot to hold it. Only drawback is when you want to use the hose for drip watering. It does not expand to the full length in that case. As long as what you are drip watering is close by it will be ok. I ended up buying 3 hoses in different lengths for my condo. I'll never go back to a regular cumbersome hose.
