Great condition and price. Came very quickly. I collect mystery books and of course ,read them.

My favourite author used to be CJ Samsom, but this author is just as good. She transforms you into the world of the Tudor times. All 4 books are brilliant but my favourite is Treachery.

Excellent read.

loved sansom, but not so much parris. Her books fail to convey the historical context.

as a historical fiction fan, this series (and other Giordano Bruno books) are a great read

I have just completed the first book and am now about half way through the second. It appears each book follows on so it is advisable to read them in the correct order as there are references to the previous book. It took a little while to get used to what for me was a new main character but he has certainly grown on me. I loved the Shardlake series and this is very similar although set a little later during the reign of Queen Elizabeth the First. Some of the characters are real life people so it is a nice mix of fact and fiction. Very good murder mysteries and easy to read. Would certainly recommend on my experience so far and looking forward to reading the complete series.

Bruno the central character of this series certainly makes it difficult to put the book down with his adventures although I feel that S J Parris just drags it out a little at times. Maybe the chapters are a little lengthy which makes it seem that way. Although this series is very good I still think C J Sansom and the Shardlake series has the edge but having said that this is a cracking series which I can thoroughly recommend.

I’ve read all the CJ Sansom Shardlake books and loved them. These are good, and intriguing, but not as much historical detail.

The books were a gift for a friend. I have already read and enjoyed them.
