The Complete Circle Series: Black/Red/White/Green

Blasphemous and a potentially dangerous read
The book is well written and vividly describes a world that few of us even envision. I really wanted to like this book. The vivid descriptions of what you would assume to be spiritual characters in the book and spiritual topics are vivid and have the ability to drive home abstract qualities of faith and support belief but the careless or intentionally perverse use of scripture in some instances may enable readers to acquire a very perverse interpretation of biblical truth. What we read often shapes our world view and it concerns me how the parallel interpretations of this book may impact the worldview of future believers. The first born of God is Jesus Christ and taking on the likeness of man, he lived but did not sin. Compared to this authors depiction of Elyon’s firstborn is blasphemous of my Lord and Savior. Because the book reads well and appears to provide answers to difficult questions in life, I feel the book is too dangerous to recommend.

You've got to read this!!!
This is a series you will read over and over. I was amazed after reading this book series that it ties into so many of Ted Dekker's other books. The storyline is so incredible that you keep wondering which realm is real and which is a dream. The bottom line is that GOD, our creator LOVES US SO MUCH !!!!!I didn't want the series to end!!Cindy

Includes Alternate Ending
The circle series is one of the best I have read. As someone who isn’t very spiritual and turned off by contemporary Christian media, I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did. I though the writing style was similar to James Dashner (Maze Runner,) as the chapters were sometimes short, sometimes longer, and he kept the story moving constantly. If you want an in depth analysis, I’m not your guy. There are plenty of reviews for this. The book however, is very good quality. It is rather large. But, what do you expect from a 1600+ page book? I really enjoyed this being packaged together, because it has the alternate ending, the original ending, as well as the interview with the author. The original ending is absolutely dreadful! I do not enjoy reading on a kindle/tablet, and this allowed me to have all the books together along with the alternate ending.

Riveting
This is not my usual genre. I’m a real softy for romance. However, a friend recommended these plus I fell in love with Ted’s devotional “The Forgotten Way”. I thought, why not? Oh. my. goodness. I couldn’t put them down. All four of them. Then there were the moments I HAD to put them down and process for a little while. Now, I can’t wait to read his other books. As for romance, what greater love story is there than The Great Romance?!! I feel like I have a deeper understanding of my own faith and this beautiful, unending, ever unfolding love story between myself and God.

Great Series
Oh my goodness, this is an awesome series!I have read a lot of Ted Dekker books, but these were the best! I have no idea why it took me so long to find these books...How wonderful to be able to finish one, and get right into the next.Dekker has an amazing ability to define good vs. evil, and tell the redemption story in such a unique way!I am a Christian, and love the way he uses the drowning as the way to die to ourselves, and rise with Christ...what a beautiful analogy! As always, his characters are well written, and keep you wanting to go further into the stories.

An intriguing premise, but ultimately the bad writing turns the series to utter nonsense
Review for the series, posted with the first book to warn readers with similar tastes away.I enjoyed the beginning of the series. It had an interesting premise, one I'd often thought about myself. What if the world in which you dream was as real is this one, and you went back and forth when you went to sleep? I'd go so far as to give the beginning of the series (Black) 3 stars. But over time the series goes down hill. It begins when the author starts explaining things and the mystery is gone. There's not much character development, and especially in the last book (Green) the characters and the plot feel like they are on rails. Nothing they do makes sense, especially for the "evil" characters. There's no subtlety, no goal, no motivation. Stuff is just happening but there is no reason why.Worst of all, a lot of it doesn't make sense because it turns out there is a whole host of other books in between white and green that aren't integrated well into this story and which, no doubt, are not worth reading just to make the last book make more sense. By the end, the final book left such a bad taste in my mouth I had to rate the series as a whole at 1 star.Unfortunately, there's not even anything interesting here about faith or the other virtues. Nothing to learn, no interesting images. Maybe a glimpse of some interesting themes, but the depth is too shallow and the books have not aged well. Would not recommend, for people of faith or for anyone else.

Confused... Intrigued... Amazed... Thoughtful!!
This series is not everyone's cup of tea -- my wife never made it past the half-way mark of the first book. I picked up the first book in a bookstore bargain bin many years ago on a trip needing something to read. I was confused at first; but then intrigued enough that I had to find the next volume, and the next, and then waited expectantly for the forth volume (addendum). An amazing story line -- masterfully written by one of my all time favorite authors!! I'm glad all four volumes are now available for my kindle!! Excellent!!!

This series was recommended to me and I usually don't like trilogies
This series was recommended to me and I usually don't like trilogies, I like stories that start and end in one book, but I have read other books by Ted Dekker and liked them so I thought I would give these a try. I couldn't stop reading, the concept is different from anything else I've read, I fell in love with the characters and wanted only good things to happen to Thomas Hunter! The story was written so well I felt like crying when he cried, laughed when he laughed, you ride the wave of confusion with him, so well written. This is a great read.

brilliant just brilliant
well what a feat, an accomplishment and a feast for the soul and heart and mind....a wonderful series of books based on a 'fictional' story set in 'this world' and 'another reality' - can't give too much away. The story follows Thomas Hunter and his story as he lives in the two 'realities'. Yes similar to many other fantasies which alternate between two realities (C S Lewis' Narnia Series and Stephen Donaldsons' Thomas Covenant Chronicles). But so what, because the pace and plot are wonderful and engaging. Some slight narrative lapses where I would liked to have seen loose ends tied up but life isnt always like that. A great read that will have you laughing, crying, gasping and wanting more. A wonderful achievement and what's more contains the original and new ending for 'Green'. A very competitively priced Kindle edition that I devoured!

Never thought that something like that will be so good
I am not into Christian fiction, at all, never read any, never was interested. But now I am glad that my first book of this genre were this four part story. Because now when I know how it can be written, and how brilliant and entertaining and hopeful it can be I will have the best filter even in regards of my future book from the same pound - it is brilliant or it is not. Now am thinking to read something else of the same line up. Or may be something else by Ted Dekker, why not?
