Really nice cheese slicer, and attractive to boot
This cheese slicer was one my son had and we used it at his home, and I liked his so much I searched for a month to find the exact one he had finally. It is very sleek and attractive with my utensils. It does have a different cutting pattern that you just have to get used to probably (before you like using it as much as I do) because the cutting edge is on one side not in the middle, as you may be used to. But once you get the hang of it, it's really a nice cheese slicer. It also comes with 4 extra cutting wires, for this times when wires get loose or brake, but we've never had to change them yet after much use.

Great quality slicer
I had a cheese slicer like this one and it was probably 20 years old. When my son said he wanted a slicer I found this one and bought two. I am impressed with the quality, it has a good weight to it. The fact that you can adjust the thickness of your slices is an added bonus.

Better than a wired cutting board.
More even slicing than using a board type. Just cut top down or across the top halfway one way then halfway the other way to avoid breaking the cheese block.

Small Handle
Well made, however, the handle is thinner, narrow and only 3" long compared to my Norpro which is 4" long and thicker. Probably better suited for a child's hand to help in the kitchen. I will keep as a spare but not recommend as a primary cheese slicer for an adult.

It seems like it will work good, nice and heavy and solid, and shiny, and has good tension!
I haven't actually cut any cheese with it yet, but it looks and feels really nice! It seems like it will work good, it is nice and heavy and solid, just as shiny as pictured, and has good tension in the wire! I'm not exactly sure if you need spare wires, but it was just as cheap as the ones that didn't, and that seemed like a plus. What I really like about it is how heavy and solid and shiny it is, it definitely looks like exactly what I was hoping for.

Replacement wires not long enough to use as replacements
I liked the cheese slicer initially. I was excited because I'd had one of a similar style before that lasted a few years, and then the wire broke. Could not find a replacement wire anywhere. I was so excited to find this one, because it came with replacement wires. I bought this slicer in May 2021, and the wire just broke. And I *cannot* get the replacement wire to bend enough at a 90 degree angle to get the little square metal pegs at the tips to fit in the squares in the slicer. I tried, just now, for over an hour. I used needle-nose pliers to get the wire to bend a fair bit. It bends, but not at the tight angle that I think is needed for the wire to be long enough for both squares to go in at the correct angle. I tried using a rubber mallet to jam them in - didn't work. I tried screwing just one peg in and yanking as hard as I could on the other square peg to get the wire to bend tightly so that I could stretch it to the other square opening - didn't work. Maybe if I owned a house and had room to have a work bench with a clamp I could use a work-bench clamp to stabilize one of the pegs so I could force the wires into the sharp 90 degree angle that is clearly needed for the replacement method to work, - but no, I live in a teeny apartment so I don't have room for a heavy duty work-bench. Or it could be that the wire is just too dang short due to a defect of manufacturing - I looked at all of the replacement wires - and they all seem to be the same length, so I'll have the same issue with all of them. I don't think I'm going to buy this type of wire cheese slicer ever again, since 1) they just don't last long enough - I tend to like cheddar cheese best, and it just seems to wear out the wires, and 2) the wires are just not easy to replace at all. I'll go back to using knives.
