Technology is not there yet, this product is unsafe
First of all, I really wanted to love this product. The idea of a silent lawn mower that did not need gas or oil changes was very desirable to me. At this price point I knew I could get a much better gas powered lawn tractor but I thought it was worth a try to do the right thing for the environment and so forth. That was a mistake.First the Pros:Yes the battery does last a long time, and you might be able to cut 2 acres with it if you had a perfect yard (flat, square and no obstacles). If you do have a smooth perfect yard this mower might work if you don't mind the price.Cons:The Mulching deflector can come in contact with the blade causing a safety hazard and should probably be recalled by the manufacturer. Within the first few minute of using the mower, the blade hit the metal deflector and tearing it apart and sending flying out the side discharge shoot about 10 feet. Very dangerous. And the danger does not end there: I am 6' 3" and about 190lbs. Since the batteries are located in the back of the mower, once I am seated, the front wheels are prone to lifting up the air and the slightest incline or even making a short turn. The mower is not wide enough compared to the seat hight and very unstable. I managed to tip is sides two times on only slight inclines before I gave up. At this point I thought seriously about suing the company. You will not want to sit on the mower for any length of time, the ride is very uncomfortable, the lack of suspension will literally beat you up physically within a few minutes on a normal lawn. Now if you have a brand new perfectly smooth lawn you might last a bit longer, but really, the ride is just terrible. On the hardware side, the steering is clunky, the blades and deck metal are low gauge (probably to save weight) and do not seem very durable.I would not recommend this item until they can work out a lot of the issues listed here.

No service from company.
I used my mower 1 year with no problem. Now it started making a scraping noise. Still being in warranty, we called and got repair man. The problem is brake assembly. After 5 weeks it has not been fixed. We have tried & the warranty company tried to call the company to get parts, to no avail. I have called them and emailed them several times. They do not answer phone or emails. DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER. There is no back up from company.

Great idea; not-so-great implementation.
It was delivered promptly and the driver moved it into my garage with a smile. The crate was damaged in shipping and the mower was slightly damaged;I fixed it with a hammer and two by four. After assembly, it was charged overnight and the next day I sharpened the dull blades, installed the mulching kit (which is nothing but a bad joke) and mowed my lawn. The steering locks on a sharp turn and releases with a bang. It is very difficult to maintain a slow mowing speed; the throttle is mostly either on or off with excess sensitivity between. The lawn looked great after mowing and I was happy. The second time I used the machine, the mulching block off plate was hit by the blade and destroyed. Lucky there were no people or pets around. No damage to either the blades or the deck. The third time, after making a block off plate out of heavy sheet metal and screwing it to the deck, I was able to mow about five minutes before the traction motor stopped. Warranty information seems to suggest that I should ship the mower (postpaid) to somewhere in Canada for repairs. After troubleshooting it myself, I was able to contact a company rep by email and after several exchanges; he shipped me a new Curtis motor control. Excellent customer service! The ride is a bit harsh, but it is a tiny machine with small wheels. When this thing works, I really enjoy using it and it does a great job, the mowing height is easy to adjust and has plenty of range. It is very quiet compared to a gas mower, but certainly not silent! The grass looks fine when I am done. It has plenty of power and handles inclines easily. So far, I have mowed my quarter-acre plus lot four times and just recharged the battery for the first time. Were it not for the small problems (that probably will be corrected in later versions), I would give this mower five stars instead of four. Don't be afraid to buy this, but be aware of the possible problems.

So far so good.
Have only used it twice. Both times in relatively tall, thick and damp grass. Works fine in highest deck setting and chute without the mulching plate.Would have been more convenient if it had an on-board charger like most power chairs, instead of a separate unit.Used over half the charge the first mowing. Indicator still showing only one depleted bar light after second recharging and using for the second mowing. Will likely not need another recharge for the next two times out to mow about 20,000 sq' each.. Very impressive!Have since found that it will not make it through a second mowing without another full charge. Might be a different story in June - August when the grass isn't growing so fast and is dry.

a disaster!
I purchased this machine in April 2012. After a few weeks of usage, the mower began having one problem after another. I have lost count of the number of times it has been repaired. The unit is poorly engineered and the metal parts are much too weak. I experienced failures of the steering brackets on the front. Made of flimsy metal, they bent and had to be replaced. This and many other repairs had to be done by me with parts sent by the manufacturer. The chain adjusting the mower height broke. A wheel fell off. Bolts came loose and could not be re tightened. Electric wires shorted out. One of the two electric mower motors burned out, the transmission failed and had to be replaced. The latter 2 repairs required a rented truck and a two hour drive to a service center. After the final repair, I tried to mow my lawn and the machine literally broke in half due to the failure of a weld. According to the American Warranty service, this cannot be repaired. I see that another person has had the same issue. I loved the idea of this machine and really wanted it to work. The manufacturer has so far not answered my calls.
