Good alternative
Mainly used it as yoghurt substitute to cook curries, did the job well, tasted pretty similar. Good value for money and can use for longer compared to normal yoghurt once opened, useful since I never finish the whole thing at once.

Simple, Subtle, and Surprisingly Good
Let’s be honest — plain yogurt doesn’t usually get anyone excited. It’s the quiet one in the fridge, often overshadowed by fruit flavours and fancy toppings. But Alpro’s Plant-Based Soya Yogurt (Plain) has quietly earned its place in my everyday routine, and here’s why. This isn’t just a “good for a dairy-free option” kind of product. It’s genuinely pleasant: versatile, smooth, and surprisingly satisfying, without trying too hard. First Impressions The tub itself is minimal and clean-looking — very “plant-based and proud” without being preachy. Opening it up, the texture is immediately impressive. It’s thick but not gloopy, and holds its shape on the spoon. Visually, it’s like any standard natural yogurt, but the real surprise comes with the first taste. Taste & Texture Let’s talk flavour. It’s mild — and I mean that in the best way. There’s no overwhelming soy aftertaste, just a clean, slightly nutty creaminess with a very light tang. It’s not too sweet (which I personally love), but it’s also not aggressively sour like some dairy-free yogurts can be. Texture-wise, it’s lovely and smooth. Creamy enough to feel indulgent, but light enough that you don’t feel weighed down. It mixes well into porridge, sits beautifully under fruit, and works surprisingly well in savoury dishes too — think curries, dips, even dressings. Why It Works Alpro’s plain soya yogurt is one of those products that’s easy to underestimate. But if you’re looking for a plant-based base that’s high in protein, low in sugar, and gentle on your stomach — this is it. It’s made with live cultures, fortified with calcium and B12, and doesn’t contain any added nonsense. It’s also allergen-friendly, gluten-free, and suitable for vegans. How I Use It • Stirred into overnight oats with berries and a drizzle of maple syrup • As a base for smoothies (it blends beautifully) • Dolloped on top of spicy lentil soup • Even in baking — it subs in nicely where dairy yogurt would go Final Thoughts Alpro Plain Soya Yogurt isn’t flashy, but it’s solid. It’s the kind of product you can rely on — clean, versatile, and easy on the conscience. It won’t steal the spotlight, but it will quietly support half your breakfasts, some of your snacks, and the occasional accidental recipe win. Rating: 4.5/5 Unassuming, versatile, and a staple in the making.

Keto friendly & low sugar
I'll admit the first day I did notice it to be a bit different from regular yoghurt, but immediately after it's tasted just as good and has a sweetness to it. Tastes good with a handful of berries, I like mine with some raspberries or strawberries. Keto friendly and almost sugar free (10g carbs for the whole thing).

Not good or bad
Not good or bad, definitely not the same texture as normal yogurt, more watery and it didn’t have a taste which made it easier to add flavour like vanilla but it still wasn’t the same. Not the best replacement for yogurt

not good
I wouldn't call it 'plain'. It's sweet, I wasn't able to use it with savory food etc.
