I received a sample of Contadina Canned Whole San Marzano Style Tomatoes in exchange for my honest review and I have to say that I was really blown away by the taste and quality of these products. I cook a lot with tomatoes and have also preferred to use fresh tomatoes because canned just didn’t cut it. That was until I discovered Contadina. These tomatoes cook as well and taste as well as fresh tomatoes, with the convenience of being able to keep them in the pantry for months. I enjoyed the ability of being able to whip up soups, sauces, and salads without having to run out to the store and with delicious results. I chopped these tomatoes up and added them to pizza sauce and on top of the pizza for a delicious veggie pizza. They also cooked down nicely as part of the sauce of a baked eggplant dish. Each time the dishes were very flavorful and so easy to prepare—with less chopping and less mess. I highly recommend trying out this product—you won’t be disappointed!

When cooking or baking I always prefer the San Marzano tomatoes over the rest. They are a high quality product and are a delicious addition to any dish. Contadina really knows what they're doing with this product. I will purchase this product again and always keep a couple of cans in my pantry. You can tell that this rich soil that the Italians grow tomatoes in from San Marzano are hearty and tender and have a beautiful flavor. When cooking with tomatoes I need a firm tomato so you can take a bite and feel the freshness and tingling flavors of the acidity of the tomato. The flavor was fresh and not a huge amount of acidity. My cooking experience was simple with my first can I opened. I added Italian spices and cooked over medium heat and poured on spaghetti with great success for a family meal night. The texture was a firm tomato that burst in freshness when you take a bite. The taste was refreshing and enjoyable. The portion size a bit larger than I would normally use but perfect for making a big batch of sauce. The recipes I prepared with Contadina San Marzano Style Whole Canned Tomatoes was an pasta dish so far and a plan to make a soup next and perhaps a casserole dish after that. They are a very versatile ingredient to many lunch and dinner ideas.

The sauce was very good. But it said 6 cans for 2.99. Only got one can. When I called to complain was told it was a mid information and was given a refund for 2.99. I called/text 3 times. The first time I was told I was going to get the missing cans and nothing. Just beware. The sauce is very good.

Contadina Whole San Marzano Style Tomatoes are a great option for your family’s cooking. I used the tomatoes for pasta sauce and to make curry and both of them came out tasting amazing. The tomatoes have a distinct flavor without the preservatives. In a big sauce pan, the whole can can lead to a big batch of sauce. Pair it with some herbs or spices and it adds brilliant taste to your base curries or sauces. The texture of the tomatoes is soft. It doesnt take hours to cook them. For both my pasta sauce and the curry, the results came out great. Tomatoes are fresh and compliment meats or vegetables should you chose add them. Overall, a great tasting tomato option which is equally good as compared to fresh tomatoes.

The Contadina San Marzano Style whole tomatoes is a great addition to any homemade Italian meal or any meal that needs a tomato infusion. The tomatoes are encased in a rich tomato purée that is akin in consistency to a tomato sauce. The taste of the tomatoes is deep and not too salty. The tomatoes are meaty but not tough. Because of this, the tomatoes add a great texture to the recipes they are included in. As mentioned before, the purée the tomatoes are encased in is thick and Contadina San Marzano Style Tomatoes does not have the watery base as seen with other brands of whole tomatoes. While I mentioned using this product in Italian food, my first use of it was in chili. It also made a terrific base for my meatball Parmesan. There were about 9 whole tomatoes in the can and they crushed easily for the recipes I used them in. The tomatoes are tasty and the size of the can is perfect for most recipes. I would like to see this product offered in a smaller size also. I don’t always need a 28 oz size. I am glad these are available in a 6 pack size from Amazon. I use a lot of tomato products and having them delivered by the case is very handy. I received this product free in exchange for my honest review.

Only 1 can, not a pack of 6 as advertised. Tomatoes good though

We eat plenty of pasta! That makes great sauce
