Great flavor!
On a pescatarian diet it is hard to deny ourselves the super taste of bacon. It is the only thing I miss! However, after trying several plant based ‘bacon’ products we have decided that this one is by far the best! We love it!

Morning Star Farms "Good Bye Land Field Bound"
I have been buy Morning Star Farms products for years, i.e., ribs, patties, corn dogs, veggie nuggets, etc. My dogs nip at my ankles to get a strip of the Morning Star Farms Veggie Breakfast Bacon Strips. However, on March 19, 2018 I toasted a few strips to make a BLT & offered my pet pals a strip to share. They both sniffed & left it. I thought this was strange, mind you I haven't read the labels in some time, so I decided to do so. Here's what I discovered:Produced by KelloggProduced with Genetic Engineering (GMOs) formaldehyde/Round-Up2nd ingredient is TBHQ (member of the butane family, that's right diesel)Contains High concentrations of various phosphatesContains sulfitesMilk (non-vegetarian)460 mg of sodium per servingWhat is TBHQ?By-product of petroleum. In organic chemistry, butyl is a four-carbon alkyl radical or substituent group with general chemical formula −C₄H₉, derived from either of the two isomers of butane. What is GMO?Viruses and Bacteria- they take the DNA strand from viruses and bacteria and other organisms like spiders and Round-Up etc. Organisms have a protective layer around their cell that is made to protect them from other DNA strands so the process to get the DNA strands into the nucleus consists of Coating DNA onto tiny metal pellets and using a specialized gun and shoot it into the nucleus with a very fine needle. at scientist against gmos.

Bacon-flavored crackers
This is an okay product if you don't want your bacon alternatives to actually be anything like bacon. Well, it does kind of taste like bacon, but more along the lines of what people think bacon tastes like rather than what it actually tastes like. When I opened the package, I thought it smelled like bacon-flavored dog treats. I was apprehensive about tasting it, but they were all right. Nothing to write home about, surely, but you could write home on them if you don't want to eat the rest of the pack. They're not too bad, but they're not too good, either. I think, as far as Morningstar breakfast goes, I'll stick with the sausage.

good bacon substitute
I've been eating the bacon strips since at least 1975. I thought it was 1972 but from the website I see it was introduced by Worthington in '75.It has changed from time to time and I think the best version was the original one.It must have been reformulated since the 2018 review because none of the complaints seem valid now.Sodium 220mg, no mention of the offending chemicals, first listed ingredients are water, soybean oil, corn starch, egg white, soy flour.

The Best Veggie Bacon
This is the only veggie bacon I like. They fry up to taste like crispy bacon. The look won't fool anyone but the taste and aroma in right on.

Veggie Bacon Shreds
High marks for appearance, taste and smell. If you can peel off a strip cleanly, the texture is good. However, all too often the strips stick together and can only be sawed apart with a sharp knife, and the typical result is a plate full of pieces and shreds. If the product developers can get this sorted out this would be a perfect veggie bacon.
