JBL Horizon 2 Bluetooth Clock Radio Speaker with FM Radio and DAB - Grey

UPDATE: NOVEMBER-15-2023:------------------------------------This 2nd model is better than the 1st version, but it could use a few significant improvements:--- It really needs a manual LOW/HIGH dimmer button that will override the automatic light sensor. The brightness stays very low in the 'low/medium light' of morning/evening - and at those times, the clock face is unreadable. We need to be able to set it the brightness to HIGH and then back to LOW with one simple button. Add a single button to set AUTO/HIGH/LOW brightness.--- The clock makes a VERY LOUD acoustic guitar sound when it connects to a Bluetooth device. That sound wakes up my wife when I go to bed late after gaming and I connect my phone to the clock to create white noise. Users need to be able to disable/mute that Bluetooth connection sound. It is seriously loud and obnoxious.--- previous review ---I owned the previous/1st version of this clock radio. After using this new/2nd version for a few weeks, the new one is improved in a few significant ways:- The Bluetooth works better.- The light sensor works better.- The interface to set the date/time/etc is much simpler.Note: I don't use its alarm (I use my phone), so I cannot comment on that aspect of it.Yes, this unit is expensive, but it hits the sweet spot with good audio quality, solid Bluetooth, two USB ports, ease of use, and the LED light on the rear of the unit.

By far the best alarm clock I've ever owned. Very high quality build, perfect futures with easy setting. It just works with no problems. Sound is amazing. Highly recommend this product.

I wanted something that shows time/day/date and charges a phoneThis does all that and then someIt’s true that in some situations it’s a bit hard to read but overall it’s right on the money when it comes to auto brightnessSounds great for it’s size, radio works great (even has RDS)for me, the lamp is awesome, Bluetooth works with ease, the unit looks super stylish. I LOVE THIS THING SO MUCH that I want to buy another one- just in case, or a two bedroom apartment so I can have an excuse to get a second one😆I think it’s a a bit of a genius product!Thanks JBL, I hope this product sells successfully and they continue to make it because I’m a huge fan !!!

I was searching for a quality clock radio with great sound and Bluetooth functionality. The sound and connectivity are excellent but the design suffers with buttons that are difficult to identify by touch and a display that is too dim. The dim function needs a middle ground. It is bright in daylight but when it detects a slight drop in ambient light, it gets so dim appears to have no display at all. Even in the dark the display is almost too dim.Update: My clock started began behaving erratically a few times a week and finally stopped working altogether. The JBL customer service team took care of me and sent me a new unit. But after a day or so the new clock completely shut down. We determined that it was a bad power adapter. They again hooked me up and sent me a new adapter cable and it’s been up and running since. Many, many praises to the JBL CS team!

Great looking clock with clear audio has an insane fatal flaw in that it's completely unreadable in anything but a fully lit room.The auto darkening feature takes the display down to just a tiny fraction above off. It is completely unusable at night or even medium lighting. I attached a photo with my night stand lamp on. It also has a very glare-inducing semi mirrored display that makes it kind of hard to read in direct sunlight as well. I can't believe this made it out of product testing.This thing has an awful lot of computer in it, and for some insane reason they didn't include an option to tune the brightness at all. All it needs is a maximum and a minimum brightness setting.

I really like all the features of this alarm clock. Well thought out.

Clock is nice because it does not scare a person awake. The soft light and ever increasing sound volume help wake a person up at a reasonable pace. No early morning heart attack with loud and obnoxious sounds/music.Light is bright enough to navigate the room in the dark without disturbing partners sleep. Overall a good solution for couples with different start times or people with startle reflex.

This JBL Horizon was so close to being perfect. The sound quality is so great, and better than other alarm clock/radio/bluetooth speakers I tested, and it's super easy to use. The display is nice and easy to read, and I love that it includes the day of the week along with the date. The HUGE drawback was around the alarms - you can only snooze 3 times, the radio sound only stays on for 3 minutes, and the snooze is automatically set to 9 minutes and you can't adjust any of it. These pre-set and un-changeable features really ruin this as a a product. The alarm comes on at a fade, and starts so quiet you can barely hear it and it takes about 1.5 of the 3 minutes to get to full volume, and if you let it play it will automatically snooze for you at the 3 minute mark and sets a 9 minute snooze. JBL needs to allow for way more customization on the alarms and then this will be a stellar product.
