Beware of your current saddle height.
I will start out by saying the quality is excellent. The problem comes with compatibility. I tried to put it on a MIM Jazz Bass. It fits fine, looks fine, etc..... the issue is that it made my bass much harder to play. The bridge itself is thicker and each saddle is thicker which means that it considerably raises your string action. If your current saddles are alreadybraised considerably off the bridge this should work. If your current bridge is already adjusted to the lowest or almost lowest point you are going to have problems. I really wanted to keep this, but it is going back. I can’t justify adding a component that makes my instrument harder to play.If you have plenty of adjustment to lower your current bridge this should be a great item for you.

Good, easy affordable upgrade
Bout this to upgrade the bridge on an old Peavey P-bass style bass that I picked up a while back. Looked at a lot of more expensive options, but decided to give this a try... Definitely improved the tone and sustain of the bass. At the price point ($40 when I bought it) I would say it is pretty much a no-brainer upgrade to any 4 string "fender-y" bass.

Overall Happy!
Fantastic piece! I installed this on a Squier Jag P/J bass. The piece was a direct replacement. The screw holes were a perfect match. The original bridge looks fine... until you compare it to this Gotoh unit. Once you get the Gotoh piece, the original piece looks really cheap. It was a great improvement as everyone has said. Also as several have mentioned, the string height does become a bit of an issue. I was able to get my strings down to spec, probably higher than I would like, but the tone was a huge improvement. The ONLY issue I had with the installation, was the screws on my bass were just barely larger than the mounting screws that came with the Gotoh bridge. The screw holes lined up perfectly but you will have to add material for the screws to get a good bite. I simply added some toothpick pieces with wood glue. The screw size was my only knock, and probably should be a negative more for Fender.

Well-made P/J bridge replacement
Now my MIJ Fender J bass of 23 years has a good enough bridge to replace a Badass II without foregoing chicken burrito lunch breaks for a couple weeks...

An Exact Fit
This bridge arrived in perfect condition, and amazingly, intonation was VERY close right out of the box. Only minor adjustments were needed. Like other buyers, I re-used the Fender factory screws, as provided mounting screws are too small. A very good product, at a fair price.

This bridge DEFINITELY improved the sustain. I mean alot
Put this on my inexpensive squier PJ with some seymour duncan qps, flatwounds, and a blend pot. This bridge DEFINITELY improved the sustain. I mean alot. I play in a band and own more expensive basses, but since I made these mods it's all I play. I don't care if it's a squier. It's the sound I've been looking for and this bridge is major part in the equation.

Easy to install
This bridge was easy to install on my Fender P-bass and I love the way it plays now, it’s becoming my primary bass. Like everyone is saying I also had to shim the neck a little to adjust to the bigger saddles but it wasn’t difficult to do and I feel like it was worth it.
