Sealy Posturepedic Allergy Protection Zippered Mattress Protector,White

So I bought this on a whim without really looking too much into reviews or anything - I did not realize this was a full mattress encasement protector! Honestly, for the price I don’t mind.Unfortunately for me I have a massive queen mattress and there’s no way I could fully, properly get this on my bed and zip it without needing to pull the mattress off the frame and set it against a wall or something so I could struggle to wrap this around my bed, and then have to find a way to get it back onto the frame (which I already have perfectly set up with grip tape so nothing moves). No. I decided right away I wasn’t going to even try.What I ended up doing was fully unzipping, and then using an exacto knife, to cut a straight line down the underside/middle of this protector. Then I put it over my bed like a regular bed sheet and tucked the middle underneath the mattress as much as I could. I feel confident this will keep the tops and sides of my mattress safe. I would’ve liked to use this for full encasement protection but it would’ve been too much effort to get it on, and I originally just wanted a top sheet protector anyway. I would’ve very much preferred to put this on properly and encase my mattress - if I had an issue with bedbugs I’d definitely believe this would work. It’s well made and definitely would have fit and sealed around my mattress (60 by 80 by 12 inches).Luckily I only need this protector to keep my mattress safe from spills and sweat. I don’t have kids, only a few pets one of which is elderly and has the occasional accident. It will definitely protect against nighttime sweats, not sure if it would protect my bed from a spill from something like a full cup of water. However, the bottom layer on the top of this protector, or the side that would be touching your mattress, feels sort of plastic and I feel like it would at least keep anything from soaking the bed if I’m able to immediately remove it. The top side underneath the sheet, or the side you will be feeling, is soft but definitely not like cotton. I think the packaging said terry cloth or something like that.Overall I’m happy with this purchase, and for under $25 I didn’t mind that I made a mistake in ordering a full encasement vs a regular mattress protector, and at the price I definitely didn’t mind having to cut it down the middle to simplify putting it over my bed.So I grew up with the crinkly, plastic-backed mattress protectors. They made noise every time you moved on the bed and always slid around underneath the sheets. They were always a pain to adjust, a nightmare to wash and dry, and just an overall necessary evil to elongate your mattress lifespan. This encasement is not even close to similar - compared to my old one, which finally tore down the middle and had to be thrown out, this mattress protector is quiet. No plastic crinkling noises. I can tell it’s on the bed, but it’s smooth. No problems with sheets sliding around or bunching up, at least not yet. If that does happen it’ll most likely be because I cut it down the middle rather than using it as a full mattress encasement.TL;DR I ordered this product thinking it was a regular mattress protector, and then it showed up as a full encasement protector and I realized my mistake. However, for the price, I didn’t mind making my own “modifications” by cutting it down the middle so I could use it as a regular protector instead of having to put it on the bed as a full encasement. No plastic crinkling noises, it doesn’t feel crunchy, and it doesn’t make sheets slide around or bunch up. I cut off the excess and tucked it underneath a few inches on all sides of my mattress. It’s secure and hasn’t slid out even after sleeping on it overnight. If this one rips in the middle I’d probably order another one to do the same thing with because this works and I’m satisfied that it will protect from general use. I bought this protector because unfortunatly I have a big bulky mattress that for some reason I cannot get a sheet to stay on the corners even after trying the corner hooks. This mattress protector fits my queen mattress perfectly. It slides on the whole mattress and zips at the bottom. It's very comfortable to sleep on if you have to. The price is to good to be true, I had to take a second look because you cant find a mattress protector made by sealey so darn cheap in a department store. I'll be buying three more of these.

It works well but it was thinner than I wanted it to be. It fits the mattress and will hopefully last for a long time.

This is a great cover for your mattress! I looked and looked until I finally decided to buy this one and I’m glad I did. It is a little lose in my little girls bed but it doesn’t make crunching noises when she moves, it zips all the way around the mattress to protect it on all sides (and from bugs that may come around unwanted!) plus it protects it from stains that can occur from spilled drinks and accidents at night. I am also going to buy another for my mattress that I just purchased for myself.I would highly recommend this product!!

Like the quality of the material and the size was generous enough to make it relatively easy to get the mattress in to it. The only issue, and it isn't a big one, is that the zippered part was on the width of the cover rather than the length. This made it a bit more challenging to get it wrapped around the mattress. once we developed a method though the second one was much simpler. I would give it a five star due to price and construction.

Love the material and quality. Very nice product and went on great and fits nice.

It is nice for a bed liner. I don't think they are suppose to be thick so it was perfect. It helps to keep me cool at night which I enjoy. It went on my queen size bed with ease. Zipper is nice to have on it.
