Such a treasure
Love this book. The illustrations and story are sweet. The beginning of the book shared about the story and book came to be. Great gift for someone that likes the royals or as a nice book for a child.

Interesting Work by a Princess
I love the illustrations, and the descriptions of the girls in the school. It's very telling of the times that certain qualities were prized in females. That the princess who would become queen of an empire on which the sun never set had quite an imagination makes me want to get into a Delorean to travel back in time and have tea with her.

A GEM TO TREASURE!
This Book written by Queen Victoria as a child, is SO charming, SO beautiful, SO delightful, and SO magical – with touches of sadness, and the understanding of, and the melancholy caused by people being parted from their loved ones - and all understood with much compassion at her tender age of only 10 years! The truly wonderful thing if you are British and a Monarchist, (which I am) is that this sumptuous book is written by one of OUR great Queens! (though of course she being just a princess at the time)The Reader is immediately taken with the story – and particularly that of the characters as they are described in such grand detail and so competently by a such a young child! It seems to me that Queen Victoria was clearly a deep-thinking child, and that little escaped her notice which probably contributed to her happiness in her marriage and the intense love and adulation she had for her husband in her later years. She clearly understands sentiment (which many fortunate people in life do not) hence why she would spend the rest of her life in mourning after losing her husband – and probably expected the same from her subjects. The quality of the Book is truly outstanding. I felt with irony it a great pity though it could not have been manufactured in Britain – not quite sure what Queen Victoria would have made of that...!? The book may seem expensive – but it is not, and there has been no stint on quality. It’s a book to be treasured - I will certainly treasure mine, and will often pick it up to read, because though the plot is simple, for some reason it has great meaning and depth if you look for it, and very striking and demands sympathy on many levels. The story exudes kindness from a girl born in to the most privileged of circumstances compared to some of the characters in her story, and who clearly realised her blessings, and recognised that all were not so fortunate. This tells of a most unique and understanding child indeed!WONDERFUL!

A peace of history in your hand
My wife loves history of our Kings & Queens of England and I brought this as a present for her as we will soon be grand parents. The book is beautifully made, hardback, artwork & story really interesting for all ages. This is a real collectors first edition for everyone's library, I found it really cool reading it knowing Queen Victoria had written it and painted in the pictures.

Looks authentic
This book has a cloth cover and is beautifully illustrated. I was so pleased to find Victoria's paper dolls illustrated as well.

A delightful book with beautiful illustrations
My grand-daughter had this book on her wish list. It was written by Victoria (later to become Queen) when she was a child. It is a delightful story with beautiful illustrations and was much enjoyed both by a ten year old and her 70+ grandma!
