Barbie Marvel Studios’ Black Widow Doll, 11.5-in, Poseable with Red Hair, Wearing Armored Bodysuit and Boots, Gift for Collectors [Amazon Exclusive]

This is one of the best toys I'd seen. Mattel really outdid themselves with this Black Widow doll. Everything is exactly as described, and the doll itself looks exactly like it does in the product images. Unlike other Barbies, this doll isn't stick-thin, which appropriately fits the character, who has an athletic build, while the details and accuracy of the face/sculpted head are by far the best I have ever seen in a doll you can also give kids to actually play with, not just keep on display as a collectors' item. I've read some reviews and comments about the pixeled face being an issue, which is why I hesitated purchasing for a few months before caving, and glad I finally did because it's not even noticeable looking at with the naked eye, so I wasn't bothered by it at all; it sort of reminds me of dolls repainted to look more realistic, which seems to be the purpose, since the other Barbies based on comic book characters or celebrities with a "perfect" paint job look less accurate and more obviously toy-like in comparison to this doll, so no retouching would be necessary. The hair is shiny and soft, and there's also a lot of detail put into the outfit, gear and weapons, which is really great; the gear is removable and can snap off or back on with ease, although the gauntlets on the wrist are not removable, nor does the outfit seem removable, since it is so skintight; the gloves are simply painted on. The limbs are also ball-jointed, so the doll could also be an action figure for kids as well, although the box is nice enough for collectors who want to keep it in the box; a stand is also included, as well as a certificate of authenticity. The only problem I had was that the top plastic side of the box got a bit cracked during shipping, but that's nothing some clear tape couldn't fix, so the price paid was still pretty decent for a collector's item.

For a mass produced doll, the likeness to Scarlett Johansson is excellent. Kudos to Mattel for finally putting articulation in their female superhero dolls. Ball joints enable the doll to do the splits in both directions. Elbows, wrists, and knees bent 90 degrees. Still the same hi-heel Barbie feet, but the boots are substantial enough for the doll to stand on its own at least long enough for a photograph as long as a big truck doesn't drive by.Nice details in the painted earrings in the left ear and the detailed, pixelated, painted eyes. Also the backpack holds the two batons when not being held.I wish the two pistols weren't part of the thigh holster and could be removed. Also the torso is stiff so the doll can't do all the martial arts poses but still many work. The heads up and down motion is only about 35 degrees.Three braids in the pony tail ties with rubber bands. The braids stop at the band holding the ponytail, so the hair might look odd if you tried to take the ponytail out. The hair is soft and comb-able.

The doll looks amazing and looks a lot like Scarlet Johansson but getting her out of the packing was hard and ended in her getting damage to her hair, sadly and the box was a bit broken when I got it but for me, that isn’t so important, I watched a lot of Youtube reviews on the doll and mine can’t move as much as they do in the videos the stand for the doll is clearly not made for this doll since it's too big and it's hard to actually make her fit, the batons "stays" in the hands if you make sure the hands are in a special position. The face looks like Scarlet but the body is like every basic barbie body, pretty unrealistic. I still love the doll and I don’t regret buying her, since Black Widdow/Natasha Romanoff is my favorite Avenger and always has been and the reason I like her is because her story is the most realistic one in my opinion so now i am going to rewatch the Black Widdow movie for the one hundred and third time. ❤️

Great item!

Black Widow Barbie is so beautiful. A fairly good likeness to Scarlett Johansson except "Barbified". Her hair is so soft and pretty with the strands having a mix of various shades of red.Articulation is surprisingly good. Very poseable. Her accessories are made of soft rubbery plastic. The belt/thigh holsters are removable. Sadly, the jet/parachute? pack is fixed unless you pop off her head. I wish they had made the that removable, too. It would probably be easy to take off her onesie without it. I would've loved to dress her up in other styles (e.g. Iron Man 2 and CA:TWS). The gun is also fixed in the holster.Another minor gripe, the box I received was damaged. The shipping box was perfect so it was likely damaged in the warehouse.Overall though, I do love her and I'm thinking of getting another one for modding.

Black Widow is one of my favourite characters and I've been dying for her movie. Unfortunately it's been delayed so we can't watch it yet, but at least we get this awesome Barbie of her in the meantime. I absolutely love it, all the details are great, like her gold widow bites look fantastic, as does the gold designs on her belt and the outfit overall.Definitely recommend if you're a fan of Black Widow, I love that she got such a great looking doll and I can't wait to see her movie!

This Barbie is gorgeous!!! However, my box came with a dent in the front

Mattel did a better job on Black Widow/Scar Jo than Hot Toys. It's much less expensive but has an equal amount of detail to the face sculpt, the costume and the weapons. If you collect 1/6 scale figures and love Marvel, you will love Mattel's Black Widow. This figure is an action figure (not a doll) because it can 100% stand on its own. Great job from Mattel.
