Changed my life
I cannot praise this product enough. It has truly changed my life. I have suffered over 20 years with IBS. Doctors never helped me very much. I cannot not tolerate the other powders such as Metamucil and Citacel they always recommend...just made matters worse for me. The last bad flare two years ago, I lost 15 pounds and could barely eat anything except cream of wheat. My gastro dr. had no help for me so, when I found this powder on the internet, I was desperate. I started on it slowly, increasing my dose gradually. It is not a quick fix. It takes months to adjust your body to it, to find the right dose to treat your symptoms. I actually went too high at one point, taking over 1 Tbsp twice a day and things got worse. So I backed off to just over a tsp 2X a day. I have been at that dose for the past year and what a difference it has made in life. I can occasionally still get a flare if I eat something that is a problem food for me...getting over-confident because I feel so good now. But I no longer have major flares that cause months and months of misery. If I do get an upset, it is usually short lived as I get back to the foods I know I can handle. The powder dissolves completely in water if you stir it constantly while you pour water into the glass. It completely disappears. It is like drinking a glass of water... no grit, no taste, no sugars or artificial anything. My IBS is mainly dyspepsia and constipation. But this powder works for those who suffer with loose bowels as well. You just have to be patient, committed to finding your dose which takes some time and varies for each person....but it is worth the effort. When I told my primary dr. how the Tummy fiber had helped me, she didn't really approve and said I had better be careful because supplements are not regulated by the govt. Well, I looked into it. Metamucil and Citracel are not approved and doctors recomment them all the time. And, acacia IS approved by the FDA as a food additive and as a filler in some medications. It is often added to ice cream. So how unsafe can it be? It has given me my life back when my doctors had nothing to offer me. If you are suffering, it is worth a try. I know...it is expensive. The price seems to be different every time I order the refill pack. But I will stick with it regardless. It works for me! Wish I had found it years ago.

Miracle worker!
This has been a miracle worker for my husband and me! We were both told by our doctors after colonoscopies to take additional fiber every day. My husband has had repeated pre-cancerous polyps and his doctor recommended psyllium, which caused a lot of discomfort. I tried but could not take psyllium either by mixing it in liquid or as a pill without subsequent pain. We have tried many other fibers over time and have not liked them as well as the Heather’s Tummy Fiber. It is so soothing and regulating. We also have diverticulosis and occasional IBS, which our doctors blamed on the American Diet, but knowing our history I would factor in heredity and age as well as other previous eating habits. We have not eaten a typical American diet or fast food for years but colon damage seems to have already been done. We are both on a healthy plant based diet now and have eliminated the inflammatory foods and drinks we loved like those with sugar. Even though we get more fiber than in the past we take Heather’s as a safeguard. Taken in a small amount every day in water it has worked so well we often forget we even have digestive issues. It is tasteless and easy to mix. Healthy foods like legumes, beans and broccoli are easy to digest now. We are on our second package of Heather’s Tummy Fiber. I love the Heather’s Tummy Tea too and drink it at night instead of camomile. Hint: We had had lot of organic psyllium powder we bought on Amazon left over after switching to Heather’s and I make vegan cheese with it (that even melts!). In that form psyllium does not irritate us so it is a good way to sneak more fiber into our diets!

User for life
Like many people who have bought and used Heather's Tummy Fiber, I have IBS. I have tried lots of different commercially available fiber supplements from all different brands and Heather's has BY FAR worked the best for me. Unlike other fibers, especially those containing Inulin, Heather's doesn't make my stomach upset or give me gas (sorry for the TMI lol).I typically use it twice a day - once in my morning cup of coffee and then once in my evening cup of tea or water, etc. I usually mix it with something hot just because it dissolves faster and I don't have to spend as much time stirring. If you buy the canister there are dosage instructions on the back (I forgot to look if there were instructions on the back of the pouch before I threw it away, so if anyone knows and can post about it that would be great). Experimenting with the dosage takes a little time because everyone's digestive system is different, but it is well worth it in the end. Something to note is that your body's own fiber requirements may change over time as well. I used to use the minimum amount, which worked fine for a while. My stomach started to get a little touchy again as winter progressed and I was moving around less, however, so I tried upping the dose a little. My digestive system was happy again. Now that it's summer and I'm back to being my normal active self my stomach is perfectly happy with returning to the the lower dose . So you really have to test your body and see what's best for you.Another nice thing about Heather's is that I can't taste it at all when it's completely mixed in, which is nice, and it has really helped to keep my digestion regulated and my stomach happy. One canister has lasted me over 5 months - I actually just bought this pouch to refill the canister. That's the only thing I would say in warning - buy the canister first or have another method of storage ready. There is no way to reseal this pouch, so you'll need a container to store it in.As a side note, I also bought Heather's peppermint tea for IBS and use it in conjunction with the fiber supplement. Heather's fiber keeps my digestion running on schedule and the tea works great for attacks and keeping my stomach happy when I eat something I shouldn't lol.Basically what I'm saying is that Heather has found a lifetime user in myself and I hope if you try it out it helps you as much as it has helped me.
