Money-saving option, solid design
These repair parts are a very economical repair solution for garden hose threaded connections that leak. Just cut off the old end, drop on the hose clamp, insert the new end, and tighten the clamp -- they are much better than the manufacturer's connectors for run-of-the-mill hoses. Lesson learned -- for additional leak insurance, spread a little bit of silicone or liquid electrical tape on the barb before inserting. It's usually not necessary, but will ensure a seal if there are imperfections inside the hose. These solid brass connectors are very well built. You'll immediately notice the difference if you've been using cheaper aluminum hardware or thinner brass. I've bought this product more than once and have never been disappointed.

Solid, well machined brass, good clamp
I bought the 3-pack 5/8" set. I found the quality to be very good. After reading the lower ratings, here are some tips: 1) You will have trouble with hoses ribbed on the inside for kink prevention. This is not the fault of the connector, this style of connector is meant for a hose that's smooth inside. 2) You'll get a cleaner hose cut using a PEX cutter. Inexpensive and handy to cut much more than PEX pipe. 3) It will be much harder to push on the connector if the hose is stiff (i.e. on a colder day, which is when I did the repair). Use a hair dryer to heat up the end of the hose and connector until the hose is flexible prior to pushing on the connector. In my case, I have a rubber hose with a rubber jacket. I could push it on by hand when warm even with the connector being slightly oversized for the hose, as it should be. 4) As with the connector, the clamp will benefit from heating the hose first, and then gently tightening the clamp after making sure the connector is pushed all the way on to the hose (to the connector collar) and positioning the clamp about 1/8" from the end of the hose. This took me under 10 minutes for both ends, looks good, no leaks, and at about $4.20 per hose for both ends it was more than worth it.

Good quality
Good quality product. I was able to make hose repairs very efficiently, and will order these again as needed.

Excellent for what it is
This is not my favorite style hose repair solution (that would be the cinch version that doesn’t stick out on one side like this with a screw) but it is made of actual brass unlike that type and does work. If the other design was more readily available and wasn’t made out of inferior material I would buy them in a heartbeat but alas that is not an option so since longevity is paramount I settled for these. Thought I only needed 2 but ended up using 5 out of 6 so the 6 piece set was a perfect choice where only the last one had a slight flaw in manufacturing that caused the inside to be rough to the touch. You do need to tighten these to within an inch of their life to get a good seal that doesn’t leak but they go in easy to the right size in my case standard garden hose and only take a minute to complete the job. Overall I am happy enough with my purchase and will probably buy again to have some extras on hand for when the last couple original ends break on my hoses.

Hose repair fittings
Just received my fittings but they seem well made. Only time will tell if they are. I expect it to last for a long time.

Quality
Should last for years. Real brass. Thick enough. Hose clamps size and strength very good.

weathering an issue
Unfortunately these type of bands are no longer used as heavily in automobiles as heat cycles cause them to get loose. On a water hose they cool from water and expand from summer heat. The hose is likely deteriorating to. The bands and fittings need some spikes to grab the hose. Unfortunately these are temporary fixes for maybe a summer and then they start to slide off or blow off with water pressure.
