I have been using fresh and aromatic perfumes for several years and the most distinctly woody and earthy I have ever been was with the Terre de' Hermes EDT. I used to think I will never come across anything more mature and sophisticated than the Hermes masterpiece but then I blind bought this little black beauty. While it still doesn't hold a candle against the Hermes, this did make me rethink what is meant by decadence on a budget.This is my introduction to Oud perfumes and I couldn't have asked for a better start. When this was delivered to me in the office, I wore two sprays on my shirt collar and it was enough to fill everywhere I went into a state of dark ecstasy. This stuff is potent and eternally lasting. Even today, I wore ONE spray on my shirt right in the centre of my chest and I can still catch a powerful whiff from time to time. Not to mention the smiles and compliments through the day.It has an almost herbal or medicinal quality to it. And the rose is not too strong or feminine. It beautifully mellows down the woods and the oud while adding that herbal character to it. The saffron and cinnamon bark also contribute to the spiciness of this juice which gives it a very authentic middle eastern vibe.The oud, cedar wood and amber give it that lasting performance which would really please a lot of men looking for a staple scent. I can see this becoming a signature scent.All in all - this is very mature, luxurious, classy and gentlemanly; Perfection in a bottle for a price that doesn't hurt the wallet.

The fragrance is tamed down, which does not smell strong enough to dry down well. It smells pretty sweet, spicy and woody. But no bold character and no depth.

Smell is good but it does not last for more than an hour..... Probably good for corporate guys
