Ironing now isn’t a chore
I bought this iron hoping it would be as good as my last one it was good when working then packed up suddenly. It’s so hard trying to make the right choice what one does the other doesn’t so I took the plunge. It’s got 3 settings eco, normal, and turbo the first time I used normal it ironed well it took a little getting used to not being able to rest it on it’s heel and just leaving it flat on the ironing board I even went and made a cup of tea and sat down for a while no scorch mark whatsoever. I did notice a couple of drops of water on the floor and soon realised this was coming from the ironing board. That shows you the amount of steam it omits I tried the turbo wow I can’t see you need it that often. Then on my next iron I tried the eco it was perfect I zipped through the ironing in no time perfect steam and no drips and no wet board. So normal and turbo are more for heavily creased or thick items like denim. The iron adjusts from silky items to cotton with ease it’s as if it knows what it’s pressing. It has a holder that clicks the iron in place to carry about, it’s easy to fill and empty it doesn’t have a removable water tank it doesn’t need one. The sole plate being ceramic isn’t heavy and thick like some. This iron is light to carry even when full. The electric cord has a Velcro fastening the steamer cord slots in around the iron it comes with a stand for descaling. If you want any iron to last!! use de-ionised water especially if you live in a hard water area. it’s worth those extra few pence you can buy it on Amazon or the supermarket no more brown or white marks. What’s not to like so far it’s brill.

Waste of space
Bought this to upgrade from previous Philips steam generator, this iron produces steam when it wants to it takes me roughly 15mins to iron one shirt as have to keep going over and over again and still not good the only time it produces plenty of steam is on a calc clean that’s it . Don’t waste your money have always bought Philips products but feel this has let them down now need to buy new iron as Philips want to repair but then still need to buy an iron Whilist being repaired so double the cost when choosing this one

These are the best irons
My previous Philips perfect care steam generator sadly expired after more than 10 years faithful service and I needed a replacement in a hurry. It’s so convenient to be able to order for next day delivery, especially in the busy run up to Christmas. This one is slightly smaller than my previous model but much, much more powerful, so far it’s even better than it’s predecessor and gets through my ironing pile in super quick time. The de-calc system is via a drip tray instead of the de-calc screw on the older model, I haven’t had to use it yet but am confident it will be straightforward. As with all Philips Steam generator irons there is no need to adjust temperature for different types of fabric, a feature I really love. It means that you can leave it flat on your ironing board between items and is also a very handy feature if you sew like I do. I am very happy with this iron and hope she will serve me for a long time like her predecessor.

leaks water not steam
I have purchased this t o replace my 10 year old Philips which I loved. It is good looking, compact and lightweight although its tank takes more water than my old one. So far, so good. First issue is that the power lead comes out on the left side rather than the back and gets in the middle when I am ironing large items like shirts and bed sheets. I've tried to double click the steam button and the 'continuous' steam lasted for 3''. I called amazon and they connected me with the Philips technical support. They told me that this was not what it was supposed to happen and that I should return it. I did so and the replacement arrived promptly. I ironed a wash load of t-shirts and other small items. The continuous steam again was not continuous but I thought I could live without it and just press the steam button when I needed it. When I tried to iron the cotton sheets thought and I needed the steam button often, it was just leaking water!!! The water was clean as it was the second time I was using the iron, but in a couple of months it is not going to be that clean. I ended up having to iron the clothes without steam and wetting them with a spray bottle. What a waste of time to package them and send them back. Although the technology that doesn't require setting the temperature sounds amazing, I don't think it delivers a high enough temperature to produce powerful steam and take the creases out of cotton. I am amazed that so many other people can iron with this???

Not Powerful
I bought this Iron as my previous iron broke down. I spent good amount of money on this iron but i feel it is not powerful enough and does take longer to iron my shirts. I can say it is very light however does not generate enough power or steam.
