Great product
As described definitely let's you know anytime power goes out they come right on. They're bright white light. They're great if you need a little light to walk down a dark hallway they turn on & off by them selves for those that don't want to use hall light all the time or hands are full.they are handy flash lights as well I'd buy again lots of multi uses

The BEST!!
I might have another review on this product but saw this previous order and love them so much (I've ordered more than once, explaining any multiple reviews) I thought I'd write this review.I have these in several places throughout my home. I'm in Atlanta where we tend to lose electric routinely. And I hate having to navigate in the dark. So one, these come on immediately when electric is lost. Two, even with power, you can set them to either come on whenever it detects motion and darkness - handy for some areas where a little extra light makes navigating easier if I don't stop to turn on a light, or to not come on until the power is lost. Depending on the area I have some set one way, some the other. Three, I hated to remember where I last put the flashlights that I used to have everywhere. Now if I need a flashlight I grab one of these that I ALWAYS have available and in sight. Four, "flashlight" function works two way - either the unit can set on its end and the lights are on perpendicular, handy if using it to work on something, or you can switch to the lights at the other end and you have a "standard" flashlight/torch.

Lasts forever great buy
I purchased these in 2017 and they still work like a champ. I just had to look them back up because my dad said he loved them when he came over and wanted them for his birthday. I have never had a issue with them and like I said I purchased the ones I currently had in 2017 it is now 2025 and they have been dropped and my kids have loved and abused them and they still charge like the day I got them they last for days when we lose power and they are still super bright I can't express how muchmuch I love these

High Performing Safety Light - Good for Daily Night Light or Emergency Illumination Needs
We live in earthquake country and like to do our part to stay prepared. I purchased one Avalon LED Emergency Flashlight with Auto Sensor Rechargeable Docking Station And Nightlight ETL Approved Blackout Light from Excellent Electronics to see how it would perform and I have decided that I will be purchasing 1 or 2 more for the rest of the house. I cannot speak to the integrity of the lights from any other manufacturer or seller. We have the light plugged into a grounded outlet on a main walkway in our home. When plugged into the lower socket, the holder may block a portion of the upper socket, limiting what you can plug into the wall. The flashlight sits about 1 inch off the wall, but may also limit what you can plug into the upper socket. If the light is plugged into the upper socket, the lower socket is NOT obstructed. We keep the light plugged in 24/7, set to "off." When set to "off" the sensor will look for a combination of a lack of light + detection of movement to trigger the safety light. In our experience, the light and movement sensor is set at a good level of sensitivity. With other lights, I've noticed that as soon as it hits dusk the sensor feels there isn't enough light and the unit turns on frequently. Not so with with this unit. The light sensor gets it right, gives us light when we need and doesn't trigger when we don't need it.Pros* The light is bright enough to illuminate a room when the nightlight detects motion.* As soon as the unit is unplugged or the home loses power, the safety light activates. It is easy to push the on/off button, once you have picked up the device, to use it as a flashlight.* The device has functioned consistently for over 1.5 years.* The unit does not seem to overheat at the wall connection. Even after 1.5 years there is no detectable wear or damage of the device or the socket.* The motion detector has a wide range. We use it for safe passage in hallways at night, and after turning off lights in the front room to go to the back of the house.* The lights stays on for maybe 15-20 seconds each time, if it has not detected additional movement.* When used as a flashlight, the unit is very lightweight and easy to hold, even for kids hands. The surface is rather smooth, but I have not noticed an issue with grip.Cons:* Only one would be the socket block. The photo posted by the seller isn't completely accurate, at least not for all sockets. You can see how the flashlight would obstruct the upper socket, but the base also blocks the ground on the upper sockets in our house. The base unit remains in the wall when you pick up the light. The light unit sits in the base. That being said, we have had no issues with the light tipping or being knocked out of the base. Nor have we had issues with people walking into or dislodging the base from the wall socket. It is on the most trafficked hallway in the house, too. I am happy with the secure fit of the base into the wall socket and with the light into the base.I have not tested the longevity of the light in a power failure type situation, but this light is not intend for prolonged use in those situations. We have flashlights and LED lanterns for prolonged use. In our home, this is intended for immediate illumination, then restoring it to its place after we can get to the longer lasting solutions.

After 5 years of daily use ....
.... they still work. Still dependable in power failures and as a flashlight every time I reach for one. Bought three lights in October of 2018. All three are still working.UPDATE Jan 2024: LIGHTS ON & OFF? The motion detector is an infrared type sensor and as such, AIR CURRENTS (hot or cold) will trigger the light just like my cat does while walking across the detector's field of view.THEY DON'T TELL YOU THIS (that I know of) but you can TURN IT (infrared) OFF.1. While the light is ON and,2. The unit is SITTING IN THE CHARGER,3. PRESS THE SWITCH. The motion detector will stay off but the power outage emergency light still works. This may help those that don't need the motion detector. The rest of you? Well, you got what you paid for. Enjoy it.
